Re: A sad day in lahore

join Jamia Hafsa ..if there is any brance in Lahore..lolz...just joking

Re: A sad day in lahore

Holy, you can try short courses run by Lahore School of Fashion Design , its also worth checking with National College of Arts for short courses , in both cases, it will be good experience to just visit and see these places.

Re: A sad day in lahore

an advice: its not going to be too easy to make true ncie friends in pak, even though the peopel are awesoem once you get to knwo them..but yes it wud be very difficult to make friends this quickly...but just hang on in there..because people in canada US do not care about each other's origin, ethnicty, culture, etc... you sit beside someone in a lec, say hello hi, and you become friends.. but ppl in pakistan do care and are curious about each other... thus it will take a bit of time in making true friends...

but once you get to know people, you will for sure find awesome friends!:)

NCA and Lahore college/uni for women

Re: A sad day in lahore

^ their tuition is also very high in comparison to other pakistani institutes.

What is Jamia Hafsa anyway??

Re: A sad day in lahore

I checked websites of NCA and Lahore college/uni for women, i hope one day they learn to put more info on thier websites, i believe many many people will benefit from it, i'll have to go in person, which is a bit confusing for me :(, but'll i'll try.

a Madrassa(Religious school) for Girls!

yeh they dont put much info on websites in Pakistan to save money i guess. Even if you go there, you might find the whole process very confusing. goodluck :@:

Re: A sad day in lahore

^ ok they have made the site but don't update it to save money!! then why do they even have a website? not having one can save them even more money and save other people lots of time for clicking into a useless site.

And, yes i know how confusing it can be, you are like going to ask a question, and that person is going to ask another person and so on untill the question comes back to the first person asking the question, it's pretty interesting and honestly very annoying, but i'm getting used to it, there isn't anything else you can do about it other than just getting used to it :)

I will say, i'm loving the country, it;s just so interesting, so many interesting things happen to you in a day which take years to happen to you in an organized country like Hong Kong.

Re: A sad day in lahore

well maintaining a fully working website costs lot more than one time static pages, even 10th grade students can do that. Also there is a "supply demand" factor, people just dont rely or are not used to do things online. It will take some time ppl adopting the idea. For now they only know about Orkut and yahoo chat rooms lol.

Re: A sad day in lahore

^^ oh they know about FB too now.

holy moly: There is this institute in Lahore, where they exclusively teach women various skills, like music, sewing, painting etc. I can't remember it's name, but i will be sure to ask someone from there for you. It's reasonable priced. i believe NCA and and LC will give you degrees, not courses, which I'm sure is not something you're looking for.

Re: A sad day in lahore

Thanks Khumar.

Yes, please get me the name of the institute, i;m very much interested in learning to sew
and design Pakistani clothes.

You are right, i'm not looking for any degree, enough of them, however, i might be interested in studying law here. Even though lawyers don't have a good reputation
here, but anyway, maybe i can help poor people some day by taking thier cases for free, they are just everywhere, so much poverty i've seen anywhre else in the world but here.
Extremly sad.....

I am sure you dont want to go there sis....the last one in Islamabad was properly bombarded and gased...stay away from these places....nothing but trouble.

holy moly!

i feel sorry 4 the problem u r facing over here. however, it shows ur utter ignorance of shariah principle. in sahih bukhari there is hadith according to that woman is not allowed to travel for more than 3 days without a mehram.

i dont balme u for this it is the prime responsibility of the parents to make their children aware of the shariah basic principles and its rationale. i m surprised that he let u go alone in pakistan beside he did not make ne arrangement for ur accomodation.

no offence! it does not sound me like of responsible father.

actually what happened in the west (this trend is gradually developing here in pak as well ) Male cleverly shifted their responsibilty as a family head, to the woman under the slogan of equality and "u can do everything".

now the situation is man is in "thund" and woman is burdened wid responsibilty.

Re: A sad day in lahore

Well, Maverick_27... thanks for the post.

You might be right in your opinion, in my opinion, my father fullfilled all his responsibilities, otherwise i wouldn't be where i am now, not speaking about the place on the map but place in a society, in terms of achievements, and much more.

In the western " you can do eveything" has a different meaning than you think, which your post is clearly showing. i'm not going to list here, but by you can do everything literaly means doing things you don't have to hide or are ashamed of.

However, it is shocking to me to see girls smoking in restaurants, wearing barely covering dresses, hanging out with guys, sitting close as if glued, i'm not going to list these things either. What does your "shariah principle" or "Hadith" say about this. and what do you say about these fathers?

No offence, i'm not trying to be rude or anything, i've read Quran and i respect the religion and Hadiths and everything a lot, especially while i'm in your country.

Anyway, let's not argue on these things. Let's pray for peace and stay chill :)

Re: A sad day in lahore

In simple words, with time you'd get used to it, as far as you are content to do it & not escape from it. Another thing, I was wondering, if u dont speak Urdu, how about learning it?

Re: A sad day in lahore

hey holy moly, it's called Qasr-e-Behdood. I think it's in Model Town.

Re: A sad day in lahore

Great, Thanks Khumar!!

Now i can ask my office people about it.

Najim: I know Urdu, not as good but i'm confident i can master it in less than two years :)

Qsr-e-Behbood!...Right?
