LAHORE: Eminent social worker Abdus Sattar Edhi has left for Egypt for relief work in Gaza, a private TV channel reported on Friday. Sources said the eminent social celebrity and the founder of Edhi Foundation, along with Faisal Edhi, left for Egypt where he would buy medicines and other medical aid and carry it to the Gaza Strip for those wounded in the recent Israeli aggression. The channel recalled that Edhi had earlier been refused permission to enter Palestine through Egypt’s Cairo border and he had to return to Pakistan. We need leaders like him, who think beyond boundaries when it comes to extending a helping hand. Who feel the pain of the oppressed no matter who they be, or where they be.

I think this is old news. He went as far as Egypt but could not gain entry into Gaza.
That was old news, he was indeed refused entry and had to return without gaining permission to enter Gaza. But this time he was allowed, and therefore has returned to carry out the good act.

edit: i really should quote people. in a past life, the post above was saying that its hard to show proof for anonymous donations, but edhi knows that the day he has to keep (or show?) records his organization will go belly up.

yea, unless there is proof of money laundering, dont blame pakistanies for regarding the man a hero. a sizeable chunk of obama's campaign was fuelled by anonymous donations or undisclosed donations, and only wing-nuts suspect that money is coming from Columbia.
theres rationale for anonymous donations aside from the one you're going for. Islamically one is supposed to give in a way that one hand doesnt know the other's action.
