‘Rs135 billion being spent on Balochistan development’

QUETTA, March 16: Chief Secretary K.B. Rind has said that the federal government is spending Rs135 billion on a programme to bring Balochistan on a par with developed areas of the country.
Speaking to the participants of the 84th management course of the Administrative College, Lahore, on Thursday the official said that work on large projects and other schemes had been accelerated and people would soon start getting benefits.
He said peace was necessary for development activities and the government had taken steps to ensure continuation of the process.
He said huge funds were needed to provide a good communications system to the scattered population in the province.
Mr Rind said completion of the Gwadar project would play a big role in the progress of Balochistan. The project would provide job opportunities and civic facilities to youths. The Kachhi canal project, he said, would give a boost to agriculture. He said some tehsils in two districts were facing law and order problems but the trouble would not affect development activities in other districts.

Oh...yet another case of Punjabis depriving Balochis of their rights?????

Re: ‘Rs135 billion being spent on Balochistan development’

News of Baloch development is promptly ignored by the Kabuli Kommie crowd. Wonder why ?

Re: ‘Rs135 billion being spent on Balochistan development’

Good news. :k:

Re: ‘Rs135 billion being spent on Balochistan development’

so where the last of the baluchi traitors?

Re: ‘Rs135 billion being spent on Balochistan development’

There are lots of projects being started in Balochistan, it's not anyone's fault if Beghairat sardaars spend it all on setting up underground torture cells, 4 wheel drivers and huge palaces.

Re: ‘Rs135 billion being spent on Balochistan development’

If these Jahail and thick head SARDAARS can spend some amount of money on building school, colleges and universities instead of arming the poor Balochis, there is a much better chance of Balochis getting their rights.

That doesn't apply to the Balochis only, it applies to everyone.
Just take Karachi's example, they had same problems that Punjabis were getting most jobs and this and that, now their education level is probably one of the best in Pak and look at the way Karachi is developing.

An illetrate Punjabi won't just go there and get a job, you have to have some sort of qualification and if Balochs are educated enough, no one will go there and get their jobs for no reason.

Re: ‘Rs135 billion being spent on Balochistan development’

This is not the first time large projects for Balochistan have been announced.

If its true, that's good, but as the saying goes 'I'll believe it when I see it.

Re: ‘Rs135 billion being spent on Balochistan development’

That's the whole point, Jaahil Sradars better not spend it on weapons and 4 WD's.

Re: ‘Rs135 billion being spent on Balochistan development’

yeah, Gawadar is all on paper too…

Re: ‘Rs135 billion being spent on Balochistan development’

Gwadar is not for the benefit of Balochi's. It is for the benefit of the people behind it

Re: ‘Rs135 billion being spent on Balochistan development’

QUETTA, March 25: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Saturday announced a special package of 56 per cent of total funds of the Khushhal Pakistan Programme for Balochistan to be utilised by the district governments for development projects.

Speaking to the district nazims at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, he said the government had decided to allocate Rs2.8 billion out of total Rs5 billion allocated for the Khushhal Pakistan Programme for the country.

Mr Aziz said that every district of Balochistan would get Rs100 million from Rs2.8 billion, except Quetta that would receive Rs200 million and Kohlu which had been excluded as President Musharraf had already announced Rs1.5 billion package for it.

He said that district nazims would identify development projects and none of them could utilise the funds for purchasing vehicles, lands, etc.

The premier said monitoring teams would be set up to ensure proper utilisation of funds for the benefit of common man.

Mr Aziz said that the federal government was giving special attention to Balochistan to overcome its backwardness and President Musharraf was keen to provide funds for development projects for the province.

He said that during last six years, huge funds amounting to Rs140 billion had been allocated to accelerate development activities in the province and it would bring progress and prosperity to the people.

Mr Aziz said work on Mirani and Sabukzai dams was under way, Pat Feeder Canal would be extended and construction of the Kachhi canal would change the lives of farmers living in its command area.

WOW!! Balochistan ALONE is getting 56% of total funs which is a news for Balochistan ,if only the government can keep it's promise and local politicians can spend it where it's supposed to be spent, Balochistan will surely develop rapidly :)

Re: ‘Rs135 billion being spent on Balochistan development’

:k:

For those who think Gwadar project will not benefit baloch, I seriously recomend they study some high-school economics. Investement is THE BEST thing that can happen to rural under-developed and under-educated areas with huge reigonal problems. It will create jobs for the local comunity → jobs will earn local comunity money → more money = more demand for goods and services → likelyhood of more invetment to meet demands which again leads to more jobs and thus perpetuate the whole economic evoloutionary cycle that will lift balochistan from its miserable state. All of this would mean more jobs, more money, more goods and services more goverment revenue (that can be spent on education and hospitals) and in the end a greater standard of living for our (im sorry to say)ungrateful baloch brothers.

Re: ‘Rs135 billion being spent on Balochistan development’

Yeah right, it's surely gonna benefit people behind it but it's such a HUGE project that locals are SURELY to be benefitted no matter what.

Re: ‘Rs135 billion being spent on Balochistan development’

EXACTLY!!! That’s my whole point, how on earth can you deny the fact that investment is SURELY gonna help Balochs??? It’s not that Punjab is gonna setup a punjabi camp in Balochistan, give all the jobs to uneducated Punjabis, take out all the investment money out of Balochistan and spend it in Punjab. It’s pure BAKWAAS from illetrate jaahils who are too thick to understand.

Re: ‘Rs135 billion being spent on Balochistan development’

Ah yes, ranting ravings and more randting and ravings… Next will be Balochistan itself… Balochistan is not for Balochis but for the benefit of the people behind it…

Re: ‘Rs135 billion being spent on Balochistan development’

Typical ranting by those who obediently believe everything the govt tells them and clearly have no mind of their own.

Gwader project employs barely a handful of Balochi’s, and is opposed by the majority of Balochi’s as they know it is just a way to steal more from them.

But if they stick up for themselves, they are ‘ungrateful’.
No wonder they will seperate sooner or later.

Re: ‘Rs135 billion being spent on Balochistan development’

More disgraceful acts against the Balochis, not that previous poster’s care:

http://www.dawn.com/2006/03/26/top8.htm

Anjuman Ittehad Marri has alleged that dozens of Marri tribesmen and children were arrested on Friday night and Saturday morning during a raid on the New Kahan suburb of the city and stated that during shelling one Janat Ali of Kohlu was killed and two others suffered injuries.

Re: ‘Rs135 billion being spent on Balochistan development’

^ look Im not saying killing of baloch is fine or anything Id condemn it as much as you. Im only speaking from the economic point of view and so do mind to listen to someone with no mind, with an cool and unbiased state of mind.

Im all for the prosperty of the balochi. Within the prosperity of Pakistan lies the balochi prosperity since balochistan is a part of pakistan. Even if some posts are too technical for under-educated balochi to assume, Im sure there are other posts being handed to the balochi which is better than nothing. Ass comes the point of "stealing from balochi", thats just ridiculous beyond reason. 135 billion being spent on balochistan for development and they still worry that we are stealing from them.

The Gwadar project is huge, even if it doesnt directly create more jobs, it will DEFINATELY lead to greater investment in the area, which will mean jobs will pop up everywhere and dont even try to argue that punjabis will come flying over leaving their houses and families and their land to take up your jobs.

Out of all the ethinicites that make up pakistan, the balochi have the greatest lack of unity with the rest of pakistan. that is the main reason they want to split up.

I dont see the point of rejecting Gwadar project by balochi. It is absolutely absurd. I dont know why the balochi want to reject our helping hand. Or maybe its just sardars whose voices are heard and the common citzens are suppresed? Either way, doubtless the gwadar project will strength pakistan and balochistan economically, however you may wish to deny it.

Re: ‘Rs135 billion being spent on Balochistan development’

**

Nothing is more disgraceful than your own mentality Mr, do you really think that we get excited seeing poor children getting arrested or killed???
There is really something wrong with you dude, a quick checkup can do wonders for your:hoonh:. The hatered inside will kill you one day bro, just take it easy.

Personally, i would like to see balochis advancing in all departments and i would love to see balochistan being developed into the MOST advanced province in Pakistan. Inshallah they will see good days, just need to concentrate more on education than anythingelse:)

Re: ‘Rs135 billion being spent on Balochistan development’

Ok 'Mr', how many times have you or others condemned the innocent Balochis being killed by Pak Army?

You remain silent about Balochi deaths...while doubtlessly yelling at the top of your lungs about Iraqi's and others being killed by US Army.
