Rising Eye Ran?

Re: A rising ISIS or a rising Iran...

Since I've been to Iran I have a soft spot for it. Puppet Arab countries can suck it. We know who they're speaking for.

Re: A rising ISIS or a rising Iran...

They or the region need to be worried about the rise of Iran.

Prior to ISIS, there was another group Hizbullah which was fully backed by Iran and Syria and was strong enough to Keep Israel on it toes in 2005/6 Lebanon-Israel war.

Although Both are different reason to be in being but both are terror groups and are free from any govt control, both are/were backed by different countries for their own interests.

Iran and Saudi and Qatar to some extend were the sponsors of these terror groups, Iran and Saudi's support from SSP and JeM in Pakistan are supported by Saudi and Iran and they don't even hide their support for these groups. L

Last time when I was in Central Asia, i was surprised to see the influence Iran is getting in these countries, Arabs were thrown out and Iranian Investment was replacing them. It was alarming but i was satisfied that Pakistan's existence could be felt although not as much as it should have been.

Iran should be contained, if with all these sanctions they are growing left right and centre, then what if they broke a deal with US over their nuclear issue and US may agree to some terms in order to use Iranian help to eliminate ISIS...

So we need to watch out for Iran. As for Arabs, the lesser said the better.

Re: A rising ISIS or a rising Iran...

Someone please educate me..how Iran's nuclear program is threat to anyone?. No i am not being sarcastic. I just want to know. Even if they have nuclear weapons..if anyone should be scared is Israel. Why Arab states are threatened by it??

Re: A rising ISIS or a rising Iran...

^^ When it was not nuclear thingy, it was their revolution, and when it is not going to be their nuclear thing, then it would be something else...

Re: A rising ISIS or a rising Iran...

I have a soft corner for arab world, but not for Iran.

Re: A rising ISIS or a rising Iran...

Iran and Iraq, one of the world's oldest civilizations. Two plus two could be 5 but for the Shia Sunni pettiness. Where they could have been. And where are they now.

Synergy anybody?

Re: A rising ISIS or a rising Iran...

I don't know man It is politics at the end of the day. Iran is been known to support proxies such as HazbAllah and support of toppling of Kingdom of Bahrain. I wouldn't trust Iran either. But i believe..even if Iran has nuclear weapon..they would be vary of using them.

Re: A rising ISIS or a rising Iran...

Its not just about the weapons. An agreement with the West will pave the way for normalization of relations. That is a huge win for Iran, for its economy, clout, trade, security, stature etc. Arabs think this new found power will allow Iran to dish out the same treatment to Sunnis that was meted out Shias the last 40 years in their countries.

Re: A rising ISIS or a rising Iran...

Ha....You live in Pakistan, right?

Re: A rising ISIS or a rising Iran...

the levant has some normal-ish areas, but otherwise iran is head and shoulders over the arabs in pretty much every aspect. just compare their educational educational institutions, and the quality of their youth this produces. the culture of jeddah vs. culture of tehran. no comparison.

Re: A rising ISIS or a rising Iran...

Please. ..I could write a thesis. But in a nutshell....munafiqat.

Re: A rising ISIS or a rising Iran...

Technically, Israel should be the least one scared, except for keeping military superiority, as IDF is very capable of fighting and has nukes of its own.

ISIS is the bigger immediate threat that you can't reason with. Such is the nature of wahabiism if you let it foster.

Re: A rising ISIS or a rising Iran...

It fears both however its iran fear is irrational. ISIS on the other hand are saudis minions coming home to roost. They financed this ideology of terror everywhere in thevworld.. With thier madressahs and funding...and are now in fear their frankenstein will turn on them. I certainly hope they do.

Iraqi foreign minister dismisses Saudi worries about Iranian control | Reuters

Iraq’s foreign minister dismissed Saudi concerns that Iran was taking control of his country and he said Baghdad sought good relations with both regional powers.

Sunni Muslim powerhouse Saudi Arabia, the main regional rival of Shi’ite Iran, fears Tehran’s growing influence in Iraq, whose government is Shi’ite-led. Riyadh is also concerned that Iran will gain from any nuclear deal it manages to clinch in its ongoing negotiations with the West.

“Iran has supported Iraq but did not send armies to Iraq and did not interfere in Iraq’s sovereignty”, Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari told Reuters in an interview in Cairo late on Tuesday after attending an Arab League meeting.

“We want relations with Saudi Arabia and with Iran … Our openness to Saudi Arabia does not mean our relations with other countries will flag … and this does not mean Iraq is becoming Persian.”…
