I have a very typical combination skin with oily t-zone and somewhat dry other areas. Occasional breakouts. I’m over 35…
so some fine lines are coming in as well…what would you all recommend as a good moisturizer?
Re: A really nice moisturizer
I would recommend Clinque's 'dramatically different moisturising gel' (The 'lotion' is suited to drier skins, whereas the 'gel' is for oily skins).
This would be perfect for your skin as it balances the skins moisture levels; so it adds moisture where needed and soaks up the oily areas at the same time. It has a lovely, light texture and is easy to apply.
The only drawback is that it doesn't contain a SPF.

I want yaar:(
Re: A really nice moisturizer
You should do some research into serums. Estee Lauder night repair is AMAZING.
Re: A really nice moisturizer
It’s about 20 some bucks…but I think it’s worth the price. I use the Vital C Hydrating Serum (has vit. C) by the Image skincare line…you have to order it, or some salons/estheticians sell it as well. I have the oily t-zone and it’s a very light and pleasant-smelling moisturizier. You can mix in the Retinol serum with the hydrating serum…I use the Retinol for scars…but it’s also good for diminishing/fading fine lines. They also have the Vital C hydrating night cream, which is lovely as well.
I also like Boots No# 7 Vanishing cream (about $11-12)…I got it from Target…it’s very very light and absorbs well into the skin without leaving a greasy feel.

i've given up on moisturizers. :(
Re: A really nice moisturizer
I got Keihl’s Oil-Free lotion in a mini size and I tried it and fell in LOVE with it that I had to get the full-sized. It is so amazingly light yet very supple. It just came out and it’s a huge bottle, about 125 ml. It doesn’t have SPF in it but it is so light that it can handle the extra SPF on top.

Re: A really nice moisturizer
something thats is
- alcohol free
- fragrance free
- oil free
your best bet are french pharmacy brands such as La roche posay or Avene, the cheaper the better.
or just use aloe vera gel if you can't find anything that suits you

The one I linked up there by Kheil's is ALL that, which is why I LOVE it! I also keep Aloe Vera gel in the fridge but I notice it isnt very moisturizing and leaves the skin feeling "tight".
Re: A really nice moisturizer
^that's so weird, i heard a woman say the exact same thing yesterday when i went to buy a new bottle of my gel. i also get the tight feeling, but i know that it hydrates my skin because my skin get dehydrated quickly and that doesn't happen when i use it, so maybe you don't see the effect immediately and have to give it some time ?

oooh which one by kiehls? i lovee kiehls
Re: A really nice moisturizer
To make the most out of your mositurizer, apply it when your skin is still a bit wet or damp. The slight wetness helps the moisturizer absorb better into your skin.
I've been using the Clarisonic brush for the past few months and I feel that it's made a positive difference. It cleans out your pores really well...I don't have the clogged pores on the top of my nose anymore.....and so your moisturizer absorbs better. I noticed that some of my stubborn blemished have faded....because I think the blemish fading serum just absorbs better after using the brush. The other thing I think would account for the difference is diet and supplements.

This one:
Re: A really nice moisturizer
The best moisturizer, in my opinion is Vaseline Aloe Fresh Lotion [http://www.vaseline.ca/Product.aspx?Path=Consumer/OurProducts/AloeFresh
I](http://www.vaseline.ca/Product.aspx?Path=Consumer/OurProducts/AloeFresh)ts perfect for mixed skin types, not heavy at all, but perfect for hydrating the dry areas.
The second best has got to be Nivea, but it has a heavier feel to it as it is oil-based whereas Vaseline feels lighter because its water-based.
Its better to lean towards the water-based moisturizers so as not to turn the t-zone too greasy which may result in breakouts.
