A ray of hope for poor people of Pakistan

A few days ago the VOA broadcast on Geo showed that how thousands of poeple undo fast on Karachi roads. These includes the passers by and the poor and helpless from all over the city. One of the managers of these arrangments told VOA that there are around 400 people who donate for this and they wish to be unidentified.

There are many poeple here in Karachi who are doing good charity work silently. One example is that of the producers of Kissan Oil and Ghee. These peopel are very generous people. They have set up a kitchen near their factory where they feed people three times a day and poor workers of the industrial area benefit from it. They are constructing quite a big hospital at the same place. Beside this they run a mosque and a free graveyard over there.

Then we have Alamgir Welfare Turst, Sailani Welfare Trust, the famous Edhi Welfare Trust.

Islamic Mission Hospital, Korangi, SUIT by Adeeb Rizvi, Shifa Eye Hospital, Korangi, etc are also doing great job here. Beside these there are organisations at different government hospitals that supply free medicines to poor patients over there.

Re: A ray of hope for poor people of Pakistan

the steel will of the people to survive in the worst case of poverty is admirable.
some people's noble acts of charity are a blessing, no doubt about that and may Allah swt give them their reward many fold for being human enough to feel the hunger of a whole lot less powerful poor people who barely live from meal to meal.

but just like in any country, in Pakistan, the whirpool of cyclic problems associated with and a cause of poverty, wont go away until all people do not do all they can to contain the problem of poverty on all levels - from social and conomic disparity to alleviation of education class difference to containing over- population.
best,

Dushwari

For all this good work, none in Karachi sleeps hungry here.

The Citizen Foundation is doing a great job - to me their works stands ahead of anyone else here and in next 4-5 years we will see the change in our country as a result of their work.
