If you know something is wrong and you still do it, then it is only logical that you also know that it will end up harming yourself or those around you. Which means you do not care for the consequences of your actions. You tell me how would it feel if someone else did that same thing to you while he/she knew it would harm you... wouldn't you demand justice for that? It is only logical.
Not knowing does not mean someone has a license to kill because he does not know it is wrong... it's every civilized person's responsuibility to figure out what's right and what's wrong (at least in a way that he/she can avoid harming society).
e.g. it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that taking bribes and doing illegal work is wrong, yet people do it...
