Mursalin, I apologize for thinking you are a Christian…Alhamdulillah, you are a Muslim…:k:…Two of my posts were deleted, one of them in Gangu-Teli’s post and it said edited by Mursalin, then I opened a new thread, and that was deleted…I jumped to conclusions and smite you in senseless fury with a baseless accusation …Someone would have thought I was an American…:)…Take care…
Here goes again:
The Bible proclaims that “the meek shall inherit the Earth…”. I have just one question, what do you mean by meek? How do your preachers, priests, padres and scholars define being ‘meek’? The way I see it George W. Bush and Tony Blair, both devout Christians and leaders of Christian countries which also happen to be super powers and are now waging war on a nation which they simply ‘think’ might be a threat to them…In the Testaments we come across the story of Pharoah, where his advisors told the Pharoah of a threat to him coming from the Jews and the Pharoah had every male child executed for fear of confrontation…Now, how does your faith define ‘meek’? Because the way I see it, the actions of these two Christian countries and the weapons, heinous weapons that they have created, to me, certainly doesn’t seem ‘meek’…What is does your religion say about being meek?
I don't care what GW Bush and Blair say about there beliefs. It is not what they say it is what they do. So observe their actions, When smacked do they turn the other cheek? When wronged do they first seek to please God by forgiving the wrongdoers? The answer to both and to many more of the criterion for Christians is, NO. Bush and Blair are not Christians. The meek are the ones who will live under any government under any circumstances as long as they live to please God. They are the ones that believe that their purpose is not to impose their will onto others, but do only good to others.
That is the best way that I can explain it. I am sure that others could add on to my explanation.

Then shouldn't these people be spoken out against? I see a majority of Christians and Jews backing this war...The majority opposing this war is made up of atheists and agnostics, but their voice is heard only in startling or violent circumstances while those for the war have an open field of expressing their opinions and a badge of patriotism is stuck to their chest...If you claim that Osama Bin Laden practices a violent and intemperate form of Islam, then wouldn't George W. Bush be a violent and intemperate kind of Christian? But unlike Osama who is hunted by his own brothers for being thought a terrorist, you made your George Bin Laden the leader of your nation. I don't see any padre, bishop, cardinal, pope, Jehova's Witnesses or ANY other religious sect or denomination denounce him as a wayward Christian...

Um, this would be because in countries that embrace separation of church and state, religious bearings of a country should have no impact on their foreign policy. So even if it said in the bible "Thou shalt not attack Iraq at any time," Bush and Blair would still attack if they thought they needed to.
In a multireligious world, I think this is the best way for a country to be run. Do you?

Um, then why does its currency say 'In god we trust", and why does the president take the presidential oath on a Bible, and why does the oath of allegiance have the words 'one nation under god'...Huh, huh ,huh? :)
