A question on burqa/hijab requirements

Re: A question on burqa/hijab requirements

I have no objection to women wearing burqa. Only if it is made compulsory. Because next thing you know, something like taleban will go around policing women and god forbid if some toe shows, they's threaten to behead the poor woman....or worse

Nobody chose to be borne a muslim woman - it just happened. but people chose to be nuns with full knowledge of what all it impllies. I think that is a critical difference.

And I think it is a wonderful thing in fact for those who women who even when given a choice, if they chose to follow their traditions - whether religious or thnic or custom. Because this the type of tradition that does not harm anyone else and perhaps gives the women a sense being part of a bigger scheme of things. Just don't make it (or ban it) complusorily).
