A question for parents specifically

Once your daughter/s become grown-ups,and when it would come to their marriage, how many of you would prefer to have a ghar-damaad as your SIL so that you wouldn’t have to send your daughter/s to a different home or away from you?

Re: A question for parents specifically

I have a daughter n i would never want a ghr jamai but definetly want her 2 b in same country not like me far away :(

Re: A question for parents specifically

it depends on situation. I saw one ghar damad pays his family expense to in-laws, so he is not really a ghar damad.

but if he doesnt pay, and lives with in-laws then it is not acceptable. unless there is some real need for time being.

Re: A question for parents specifically

it's about the daughter and NOT about parents! so, whatever is best for her should be acceptable to parents. parents must be flexible or else there will be unhappiness. expectations must be reasonable.

Re: A question for parents specifically

i dont think ghar jawai is the best idea these days, she can live next door but i would not want my damad to live with me in my house. Have heard too many horror stories about saas bahu.. kahi saas damad ka bhi jhagra na shuru ho jaye. :hinna:

plus iam sure she would be more comfortable living on her own, like me
