I’ve noticed that many Indians on the net know whole a lot about Pakistan politics and history of politics etc. Even I don’t know that much about Pakistani affairs as much as the Indians seem to know.

On the other hand I don’t find as many Pakistanis knowing much about or as in depth about Indian affairs/Politics. Is there a particular reason behind it? Why such an unbalanced interest in each other’s politics across the borders? Or I’m mistaken?

Brother, the simple fact of the matter is that we Pakistanis have a certain aura about us (thanks to the Almighty Allah). A country that is a mere 60 years old has come so far in such a short time. Allah has given us power, an identity (as Pakistani muslims), good looks ( ), a (generally) fiery personality, and style. As such, our good neighbors see this and can’t help but flock to our matters.

There has never been a dull moment in Pakistan’s history; be it wars, politics, sports, or education. True that not all has been positive but the point is, Pakistan since its inception has always remained in the worlds view.

Just look at something so relatively simple as our cricket team. There is hardly a cricket season where the Pakistani team isn’t making headlines about something or another: Our coach (may Allah grant him janat al firdaus), doping allegations, changes in captaincy, player fights etc. All these events have held and currently hold the public’s interest. I realize that this does not shed a positive light on Pakistan but again the point is, we’re an interesting and passionate country.

We our the only muslim country to be a nuclear powered nation; to me that is an amazing feat (By the grace of Allah).

We have one of the top universities in the world in Aga Khan University (known in some circles as the Harvard of the East).

So what Im saying here is that by the grace of Allah-rab-ul-izzat, we have been blessed with many things that our neighbors would envy and want to know about.

look at your cricket team and tell me who is good looking

1. Imran Khan - I liked him a lot as a great cricket player
2. Musharraf - Even Americans know about him

Pakistanis I suppose arent really interested in India... Why should they be, Pakistani politics are far more interesting. Besides, India isnt anything special, we should know just as much or just as little about Iranian or Chinese or Afghan politics...
Personally cant figure out why Indians would want anything to do with Pakistan... I assume its because they think they have a duty to defend their country against Pakistanis on the net... Misplaced patriotism?

If thats the case, then why are you here Chintu? Plus you need to look up the term politics.
As far as dictatorship goes, take out the "tatorship" part and whats left describes Indian politicians and many Indians pretty accurately me-thinks. :D

This one I totally agree with , Anil Jee. Obsessed as we are with Pak, we are not naming our kids 'Younis Kumar' yet.

Whats in a name? Its being a momeen/muslim is what matters. Alhumdullilah, I was born while hearing 'Laillahaillilah, Muhammadarasulullah' and inshAllah on my last breath I'll recite the same Kalimah.

Oh and you're not naming people Younis Kumar but you are naming them "Shahid Kappor" and "Aftab Shivpasani" , no?
