So I went to the Mosque the other day and read my prayers with Imam as a Jamat, so as I was in the middle of the last rakat, Imam had finished his prayers and said his salams.. so should I continue my prayers (since I’m not finished), or should finish with imam regardless of me done or not, since he is leading the pray?

If you joined the imam from the first rakat and when imam says salam, if you are done with your tashahud at least then do salam with imam, otherwise finish your tashahud and then do salam.
If you joined late (later than first rukoo), then dont do salam but get up and finish your missed rakaats.

"if you are done with your tashahud at least then do salam with imam" So you mean i shouldn't be finishing it up with imam and finish my tashahud first ( cause I read a bit slow) and imam was like super fast.. but in the masjid someone told me to do as imam does and finish with him no matter what since he is leading the namaz. btw I joined him in first rakaats.

Actually sonme of us have odd working patterns, i’ve just come off on break… dont finish till 8pm GMT As for Namaz you should finish your Tashadud as TLK said even if Imam speedy ges faster than you, you can still make your salaam a few momens after him and you wont be a rebel 
Also it is said one should read namaz slowly and calmly anyway never rush it becuase you might stutter or confuse your prayer. Naturally the rest is all obvious and has been summed up by TLK.

You should continue and complete it. But you should try to keep up with the imam, that is a huge difference.

If you finish with Imam, I think that would not be so big deal. Technically Imam did shahada for you. But no big deal if you also do shahada. Just do not take too long to finish yours. Try to be in sync with others including and more importantly with the Imam. :)

ask TLK and others already explained, tashahud in last rakat is necessary, and i dont think its possible (or not very likely) that you did your sujood with Imam, but when Imam said salam (after finishing tashahud, durood, and dua) you still had not finished you tashahud

I always do my sujood with imam as i'm always caught up with him at the monet.. but it's only the last part where he does tashahud, durood and dua, I get behind.. and didn't finish it my own and did salam with the imam.. but now I finish it no mater what and do salam when I'm done, not when the imam is done.
