Ok, I’ve been thinking about keeping a beard for a while now, I’m sick of shaving every week (even though I only shave twice a week…rest of the week I just stick with the stubble) I’m gonna start with a trendy short one (grade 1 or so) and then grow full length some point in the future insha allah.
What kind of trimmers are the best for this kind of beard? What is the best way to maintain/trim a beard…clippers or trimmer? Is it easy to do it yourself or is it best making a trip to the barbers every week?
Depending on how perfect your facial hair are, you might still want to shave from upper part of your neck which in urdu is called 'khat karwana' or from the side of your nose to make it look good.
Dont think that growing a beard means not shaving at all. Like ahmadjee said you still need to clean-shave parts of your face to look decent with a beard.
As for trimmer, anything around $20-$30 would do. I use a Philips multitrim HQG267 . Its multipurpose (good for beard, sideburns, ears, nose and all that jazz). Lightweight, rechargeable with built in batteries. Got it from walmart for around $25 over a year ago and its still working well.
Remove the hair on your cheeks and throat by depletion if you have hair there.
Some guys have their beard starting right under their eyes and moustaches like Pir Pagara, man that's such an ugly sight.
I've seen quite a few Mullah/Preacher lads who come on Jamaat, they have clean cheeks but a beard where it should be, which looks very handsome and adds noor to a guys face especially if they wear a lil turban thing to go with it.
i would actually say it's more hassle keeping a beard. A bad beard looks really ugly. you need trimming, you will still need to shave in certain area's of your face etc. much easier just shaving..
i use a trimmer too..never been to a barber for my beard..
to look neat, u'd probably have to shave from ur neck i.e. khat the same amount of times as u'd shave normally.. so its not that u'd have any less work lol
