I dont like posting it in the religion forum. It may start a mud slinging match between people from different schools of thought and that will eventually lead to a war about who is right and who is wrong and burn in hell
I simply want to know what are the conditions for Fasting , if one is travelling i.e will be going out of the city. He may OR may not return home before maghrib.
if he/she reutrnz b4 maghrib den he have to fast n if he/she dont return before maghrib den it dependz how far he/she going n i think they are allow to not to fast only if they r goin far like where time zone changez n etc

it’z better to wait for the repliez of AQ bhai , Crescent or…sum1 else intelligent:halo:
If by travelling, a person will not experience any difficulties by fasting, e.g. he is travelling by train/plane and feels that he will reach his destination by the evening or he has all the necessary items which will give him comfort during the course of the journey, in such a case it will be preferable to fast even though he is still regarded as a traveller. But if he does not fast despite all these comforts, even then there will be no sin on him. However, he will be deprived of the virtue of fasting in the month of Ramadan.
thanks - much appreciated
how do we define a traveller?
Suppose someone has to go out of his city of residence for work and is unsure about the scope of work, he is doubtful about returning home before maghrib. When does he decide that he has to fast or not. Although I agree with your opinion about travelling in comfort but just heard some comments from people defining different criteria about distance travelled, type of area (populated or vice versa) etc etc., so I was just a bit confused. Just wanted to make sure
if u r going out of city and u won’t be back until magrib then u have choice but if u will come before magrib hen u should keep the fast.
*important notice * even if u r going far still u can keep the fast coz now days we have everything with comfort , look at our cars , and planes i mean everything is luxries. so we shouldn’t have any problem keep the ROZA . at the time of PROPHET (SAW) sabah used to travel in burning heat on the camel and horses even that time they don’t dare to miss thier fast, but we have taken very small excues to just get rid of the oblgation which is upon us .
p.s: i am not saying this important notice is for u , all i am just saying if u can then my best advice do not miss it coz is last two or one roza left don’t get offended pls
ok is the case of every day then u should fast and u can break ur fast on the way back have somethign with u . but is the case of one day then is a different case.
but still this confusion about comments from LEARNED people that there are certain conditions about travelling a certain distance and also about the place you are visiting, in such cases you should not fast (or put yourself into extra hardship of travelling and all that ). Complete the fasting count in the month of Shawaal
yes u can do that once miss the big virtue of roza , i mean common if you really want to keep it then u will feel normal i have travel alot in fasting even i drive everyday more than 2 hours without air condition in my car i feel normal. it shouldn’t be a problem . but if u want to get the authentic answer my sincere advice will be to u james bahi ask a scholar . coz sometimes two person had same question will get the different answe r depending on the condition.
Im not exactly sure what defines a traveller. It’s based on miles and im not sure what that would be.
See during the Prophet’s (SAW) time he encountered great hardships while travelling because back than they didnt have the luxuries that we have nowadays. Therefore Allah (SWT) made it easy for us by giving us a choice to fast or not during our travels. However, you miss out on the virtues of fasting during ramadan…therefore in my opinion it’s best to keep your fast during ramadan…especially since your travel is for only one day
anyway…alhamdulillah…you’ve decided to keep it good for you.
2:183 O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that ye may (learn) self-restraint,
2:184 (Fasting) for a fixed number of days; but if any of you is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed number (Should be made up) from days later. For those who can do it (With hardship), is a ransom, the feeding of one that is indigent. But he that will give more, of his own free will,- it is better for him. And it is better for you that ye fast, if ye only knew.
2:185 Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur’an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong). So every one of you who witness this month should spend it in fasting, but if any one is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (Should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful.
Journey refers to a travel with hardship. During this month I have been travelling 200 miles back and forth to a client twice a week but it was not a hardship. I observed the fast.
Last year, I could not observe the fast during the flight from Ny to Karachi. It was really impossible to look for the time and calculate during the journey. I made up the saum later on.
It’s upto you. BUT as the ayah guide us that And it is better for you that ye fast obviously there is no sin by observing it but a more reward than usual and at the same time, there is no sin by leaving it in such case either. It is a mercy of ALLAH:swt: that He has given us such options for our own benefit and it is actually Sawaab to take advantage of such for we will be obeying ALLAH in that way.
