With mashallah more than 5 years of married life experience under my belt, i have identified Patience and Forgiveness as two basic ingredients of sucessful marriage.
Kaleem bhai bhee mashallah experienced lagtey hain. You should have "My fault" on the tip of the tongue always :).
One more thing is beware of "acha theek hai" this is actually "kuch bhee theek nahi hai ...aab daikhtee hoon tum ko" in disguise. For example if you call home from work and tell her that you are going to be late today and she started complaining then everything is good but if she says “acha thaak hai” and hang up, get your butt off the damn chair and speed towards home coz “kuch bhee theek nahi hai” :D

ROMANCE is a must ..................................................................................................
considering yr spouse not just a person to live with but a best / close friend , also sharing everything ( yr thoughts + belongings ) + patience + tolerence , a little privacy ,it's not like u expect all that right at the time u'll get married , it all develops with time , try spending sometime with yr spouse all alone during first few days ( go for trip / honeymoon) for better bonding & fun memories for later life .......................... try not let any third person to interfere in yr marriage............. and last but not least shower yr spouse with little surprises at times , for sweet memories.
