Verizon, I can care less what your religion is. I am just asking you to respect others if you want to be respected. If you make fun of Islam, take mulsim deaths lightly, you cannot expect msulims to respect your views or your ideologies.

Yea it really pisses me off when people sit there and label all Pakistani kids born and raised in America as "thankless". Yea, majority of the guys think they're black, and majority of the girls think they're white. There's still an amount that does remember their roots. I know lots of Pakistanis born and raised here that have more pride for Pakistan than for America.

Hey, the ones that mouth off don't bother me a bit. I just look at it this way. They show a bit of their personal character coming to this country and taking advantage of the opportunities here and then celebrating during low moments. I like people like that because I know exactly what they are and where they stand.

It's the ones that are smiling to your face and working next to you everyday, even pretending to work in the interest of this country while at the same time going home or to sites like this to spew invectives and hate that bother me. The open ones at least have a bit more character and credibility.

But overall it just shows a weakness in their character that most of them would never admit to because they would comprimise themselves to the point where they would live side by side with the enemy rather than stand on principle and make a point of not taking help from those they claim to hate so much.

also it goes either way, whether it be condoning torture at gitmo, or an american plane that went down. it is gruesome regardless.

Verizon, I dont have time to pull up numerous posts that make a mockery of Islamic values, rules and way of life. Second, I really dont care what your religion is…if you cannot respect me for who I am, do not expect me to respect you. When you rejoice at the killings of palestanians or iraq’s (insurgents), hwo do you expect muslims to repsect the life of the soldiers (who by the way are the occupying force…not the liberators)? I just dont understand the arrogance educated folsk like you exhibit here, when you..yourself are involved in ridiculing, mokcing one religion, and belittling muslim life…why do you expect anything different?

suroor - policies are one thing, I am talking about the people who gloat over others being killed, or label gora women as sluts, or put down a culture that is giving opportunities to you that you may not have in your own.

I have posted against my governments policies and against some portrayals in the media that were wrong, that doesn't make me unpatriotic, just desiring a change. But I have never gloated over people dying or labeled a culture negatively or ever talked down about anyone or anything that gives me an opportiunity to live freely. That's ungrateful.

To me anyway, it really shows a lack of character to deride a culture that gives you opportunities.

I suspect most people on GS are born and bred in the west, so its our right to slag off our governments for their policies. Thats part of democracy. And the govt isn't feeding us, we're feeding ourselves when we've worked hard to educated ourselves, go to University and get good jobs thereafter.

The people that need to tred a fine line are the FOBs who live off the state and call for the death of its citizens.
