Another hadith says that whoever says salams to the prophet, Allah sends Muhammad saw’s soul back to his body to return the salam and that anyone can send peace on him from anywhere.

Masjid al-Qiblatain. It was where the Prophet saw received revelation in the middle of a prayer to change the direction they were facing from Jerusalem to Makkah. The masjid still retains the prayer niche facing Jerusalem, hence the name Qiblatain – mosque of the 2 qiblas.
Uhud is a huge mountain range ahead of us in the distance and then behind us is a little hill (which probably at one time was pretty big, but now eroded over time). The hill is where the archers were ordered to remain by the ras (saw). Between these two in the valley is an open building structure. Inside on the mud clay ground are 4 wooden/cement planks that make a square around an area. Within this are the graves of the shuhudah that died at Uhud, including Hamza (the great warrior and uncle of the prophet saw) and famous sahabah like Mus’ab ibn Umayr. It was hard to come here and see that they were buried in the middle of a valley in the middle of the desert.
The last time I went was almost two years ago, and it was amazing. All I can say these pictures do no justice to the beauty you see with your own two eyes. You probably agree with me, huh?

I left Saudi Arabia when I was just 7 and I wasn’t able to truly appreciate Makkah…
I mean we used to go to Makkah a lot, but I used to think “Oh, no, we’re going all the way to Makkah again, it’s the whole day gone”… but now I would kill to be able to go back…

maani, I like to think I can trust my muslim bros and sisters… so I always leave 'em as a pair. And anyway, they’ve never ever been taken ever since at any mosque… So I’m hoping that was an isolated incident.
One lesson I learnt that day was that walking barefoot through Makkah’s streets during a hot afternoon is painful. In the end I got a piggyback ride back to the car on my dad’s back
