A Philosophical question.

Sometimes I wonder - why do we waste so much time analyzing games, player performances, team selection etc.

‘He should be included/He should be dropped’ - as if anyone gives a rat’s arse to what we think. So many man-hours wasted on discussing/analyzing something that essentially amounts to nothing.

So a philosophical question is - What is going on inside our brain OR what exactly are we craving for when we write long threads with our “precious” recommendations. What good has it done to us in the 10 years (almost) that this forum has been in existence.

I wonder if anybody during a PCB selection committee meeting said - “…But Dhobi_bhai and Captain1 on Gupshup website feels that Sami should be dropped.”

As you can tell, I am in a very philosophical mood this morning.

Re: A Philosophical question.

Philosophers have actually philosophized about much more mundane stuff.

Re: A Philosophical question.

:cb: can someone (mod) move this thread to the general section or perhaps Philosophical section @ gs

Re: A Philosophical question.

Some people prefer to work and give out their valuable opinions free of cost, free of desire-for-credit :snooty:

Seriously, everyone has a ‘philosopher’, ‘analyst’, ‘mullah (conservative/liberal/moderate)’ etc. so we like to use those skills and dole out our opinions.

If I go into a party and naturally different groups come into being for discussions on different topics, I quit political/career groups and jump into a cricket discussion group as soon as one pops out.

Re: A Philosophical question.

someone must be smokin some phat blunts to come up with this question.
i myself wonder about this, i guess this is just an outlet to share your thoughts, opinions. its healthy and mind stimulating..better than porn surfin with one hand imho. :)

Re: A Philosophical question.

Someone1,

you are right. I myself think of the same thing too. I mean sometimes we do have good suggestions/complains so isn't it nice if we have a way to communicate these to PCB.
Mr. Fraudia has given a similar kinda idea in Pakistan Affairs Forum where people are coming up with different topics to disuss. The conclusion will be presented to authorities through newspapers etc.

Re: A Philosophical question.

if we keep thinking on that line we'd have to keep pur mouths shut most of the time....
we spend most of our time discussing things that we can do nothing about, or r can not influence....

Re: A Philosophical question.

I don't think these discussions will bring any goodness to PCB or Pak cricket but they are just a means to express oneself.

Thinking on the same philosophical lines, I guess it is inner desire of expression and of being heard when one writes here. Probably this is a healthy feeling. And as rightly mentioned above, it is better than wasting time on other useless stuff on the net.

Re: A Philosophical question.

Because if we dont speak, we will blast one day by keeping all this inside. When i was in Pakistan, I never had to come to GS and post my “view and reviews” coz i can discuss that with my next door neighbor at 1:00am on street corner but in US, i cant discuss it with my next door GORA neighbor or my GOREE co-worker so i spill it out here on GS…chilll have some :chai:

sub khabtee hain kambakht:)
