June was very special this time. I have been here since 2000 and I am a proud witness of a poetry forum which did not exist anywhere else on the net. Time had its toll and and we lost to the business of life members who were matchless. As a new member on GS then, I saw some really quality stuff on this forum which ultimately improved my own taste, standard and understanding as a reader. The previous month was a glimpse of that golden era. So much of good material was posted in the previous month that it really made me feel proud of being a member of such a quality-conscious community.
While almost every member posted good poetry, I would like to make a special mention of some of the member who were simply outstanding in the previous month.

aabla_pa posted a short ghazal, khatm honay ko hai safar shaid, was a deep one. I specially liked the maqta which was a real gem. Another thread by him, Siyaah Hijr Gaya Zard Intzar Gaey, had an excellent ghazal.

being lonely’s monthly dedication of Jiggar Murad Abadi was a highly comprehensive thread. A terrific window to the work of the great writer. Another thread by him, Shair Jo Dil Se Niklay also proved to be a huge crowd-puller, resulting in a great treat of lovely aashaars.

**bheegiyaad **opened 53 threads in Intikhaab and I must say that most of them were high-quality threads. Amjad Islam Amjad’s chehare pe mere zulf ko phailaao kisii din, an often-posted ghazal, showed the taste of bheegiyaad. Another remarkable poem, Ab Jo Bichray Hain To Ehsas Huwa Hay Hum Ko, was a must read. It was also posted by Dania_2000.

deadsoul’s HAMARA KIA HAI and NAZM IN DEAD VOICE were simply terrific stuff. He also opened many qulality threads and proved that deadsoul’s taste is so full of life.

deep_ocean’s poem, ye ajeeb fasl-e-firaq hai! was a very touching piece. But his best came in Bicharne walay which was an exceptional poem. It’s still not too late, read it now if you missed it.

GuL-e-Tasbeeh’s poem, – Meri tehreer ke aansoo–](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/showthread.php?t=256000), was a very deep poem. It’s one of those pieces that makes you think and feel what the writer is trying to say. – Khamoshi --](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/showthread.php?t=257314) was another poem posted by Gul. Another beautiful piece. Very valuable contribution Gul :k:

Innocent_Smile posted two beautiful poems, both in Urdu script. Youn hi hansi hansi mai was a poem which needed to be taken seriously. It offers food for thought for any hungry mind around. Noon Meem Rashid’s Mein usey waqif-e-ulfat na karoon is a bit lenghty but a beautiful poem. It’s a poem you will like to remember despite its lenght. Another thing to note is the class and the standard which has been maintained by the poet throughout the poem. It also shows the taste of the poster.

**Jhanjharewali’**s ghazal, tere mere darmiyaan bass ik khalaa reh jayega, was a marvelous piece. I would suggest it for everyone. I do not think that a true poetry-lover can afford to miss such a beautiful piece. Another ghazal by Jhanjharewali, mere humsafar abhi soch le!, was another classy piece of poetry. More or less, it’s also a must read for everyone. Great choice Jhanjharewali :k: Keep it up.

Koyal is living here since time immemorial. She has been here even before joining the forum. May be even before her birth? But Koyal has been an asset. She isn’t that active these days, but still very much lively. tera naam hi aaya tha lab par was good piece shared by her. First sheir is one of my personal favourite. chamakti dhuup tum apane hii daaman meiN na bhar ley’naa was also a lovely ghazal.

redidentity posted a ghazal, Dil ke Baat Main Anay Walay Kuch Kuch Pagal Hotay Hain... It was one of the most beautiful and rhythmic piece posted in June. If you missted it, you have a chance to read it again as taliba2007 has also posted it again. Another beautiful selection came in the shape of Wohi Log Mujh Sey Bichar Gaye. It was alos an amazing piece. Something to keep in the diary of mind.

savenstar2007’s piece on Ishq k bhi kuch aadaab hua karte hein was also a lovely one. It was short, but pretty impressive. A poem posted by savenstar2007, baat nikley gi… was also a beautiful piece. Again short, but a classy one.

Shab-e-Hijar’s ever green… is really ever green. If one did not read it, one must have listened to it for sure. ek purani si ghazal reiterates that “old is gold”. I wish Shab-e-Hijar spares more time for us :~)
-
**soniaa_jee **thread NEGAHOON K TALATUM MAIN was also one of the most beautiful posted in June. Another ghazal by soniaa_jee, meray mah-o- saal k beech mein, was one of her own “favourite”. And after reading it, I also felt that it deserved to be amongst favourites.

tahreem saeed assures Woh subah kabhi to aayegi. We all agree. One of the best poem that relates to patriotism by one of the best poet — or shall I say, an institution, graced the forum in the previous month. tahreem’s Bekhudi was talking something else — perhaps the most-talked-about subject in poetry — love. It was also a lovely piece. An almost must :~)

Amal, last and the least, a ghazal posted under the title: Meri nigahoN sey baat karna koi to seekhey had good enough appeal in it to make me share it with you guys. It wasn’t that great as the stuff mentioned above, but am sure a few of you must have enjoyed it :~)
I would also like to mention that the list above is only a casual review of the previous month. I am sure I missed a lot of good stuff and many other members were not mentioned. I apologize for the lapse. But I hope that the members will continue to promote the new-found era by posting more and more nice stuff. I also wish that everyone of you reqularly reviews what is being posted by others. Your participation is a must to encourage others to post good material.
Lastly, I would like to make a humble request to all of you to please visit Shora-e-Gupshup as well. Without your comments, our budding poets won’t be able improve their skills. Please do not ignore them. And also make sure that you regularly visit Bait Bazi in Intikhaab
Before I sign it off, my heartfelt thanx goes to each one of you for the wonderful contribution you made for the GS community.
Best Regards
Amal
