Not entirely new ofcourse. It will likely consist of the original PPP members who followed the philosophy of Z.A. Bhutto and BB. Signs of division within the party are very apparent, and recently have come out in the public in form of difference of opinions, resignations, and outright taking sides.
Sherry Rehman resigned over the Govt. policy to crackdown on the media, Raza Rabbani who is considered a senior member of PPP resigned.
Speeches and comments from other senior PPP affiliates were notably seen as a sharp contrast to what Zardari represents. It seems the party has isolated him and his inner circle as being imposed upon PPP, and the party may reform itself consisting of like-minded members.
What are your thoughts on this? Will a new PPP emerge out of and consisting of the old members, or has it already emerged?

We can hope that sanity prevails in PPP leadership and that they isolate Zardari otherwise Zardari will turn into Leghari. But then how would they get votes without name of "Bhutto" in their party, that was their biggest worry when they okayed Zardari taking PPP leadership and making Bilawal the chief. PPP needs to get out of this mentality before we can see actual change in PPP.

The public doesn't see him as the true head of PPP though. A large number of people were expecting Amin Fahim to become President because he deserved it much more than Zardari. I dare say, we may actually see a PPP that follow Bhutto philosophy but is headed w/out a Bhutto name. Times are fast changing and this i think will be a welcome change. PPP is a deep-rooted political party with its members in all provinces of Pakistan, so if it reforms itself to portray true Democracy even within the party, many objections to its hierarchy and inherited "throne" will go away....

zardari sahab is co-chairman with his ladla. till that changes he will be seen as the true head of the PPP. happily i think their political career is severely dented, if not over. if the PPP is to survive, they need to do the smart thing and get rid of him discreetly.

Him being as clever as he is, do you suppose he put Sherry Rehman and others upto this? To perhaps shore up the image of PPP? He could care less what people think about him, as long as the party remains strong and he remains the head of it.

^ I agree. Zardari probably thought himself as The King being President as well as controlling strings of Prime Minister, but then some heads are not moving in the direction Zardari wants. As long as Zardari is at the top, PPP will continue to decline, we all knew that as soon as he read The Will in public.
