I live in the outskirts of New York City and I work in the city. I take subway train to work. It is about 45-minute commute. I read my newspaper on the train. Sometimes people have Walkmans playing with volume so high that you can hear the music seeping through the headphones. What I have been noticing is that everyone with a Walkman has been listening to the same song for the past 2 or so years. The music goes like this: “chooka-chooka-dhun-dhun; chooka-chooka-dhun-dhun; chooka-chooka-dhun-dhun; chooka-chooka-dhun-dhun … phachak. Dhun-dhun..”. I don’t know who the singer is, but this song seems to be equally popular across various ethnic gender and age groups. Do you know who the singer is? I am a little embarrassed to ask someone as they might laugh at me because I haven’t heard of this ‘famous’ musician.
jigga wha? I need words to name that song.
