Ok i think this is my first post in the Poetry Forum, still have no idea how i got here..guess i was really bored. Anyways just came accross this poem, thought i’d share 
A New Light

I look back on my past
And realize my wrongs,
But I was confused about myself
And where I did belong.
Too many decisions
That I have to make.
So many choices
I’d rather not take.
When I thought I found right
It was wrong all along.
Wanting bad choices I made
To simply be gone.
Then I prayed for a light
To show me the way.
To keep me from failing
Or falling away.
I only asked for a little
But was given the sun.
I didn’t deserve it
For all the things I’d done.
Once I saw the sun
I knew the way to go.
The light it gave was brilliant.
It is the best I know.
I want to see the sun forever
So it may guide me through my life.
Helping me to be stronger
And abolishing my strife.
And when the sun does set
I will have nothing to fear.
I know it will be back again
To help me through my years.
