A near death experience

This guy claims to have ‘seen’ God.

What he describes is not much different than what most religions believe, that a supernatural entity is keeping record of our daily lives and actions and will take us to task.

Athiests may need to rethink their strategies

Broken by The Light

In 1978 after weeks of failing health, Daniel Rosenblit had a near-death experience. As an atheist, he made fun of those who believed in the afterlife. After his near-death experience, his life changed.

Nice article, in a limited context. I have actually read and heard about a fair number of Near - Death experiences, where people always claim their whole life - the emotions, feelings, thoughts, actions , the whole experience etc - literally flashes before them.

But methinks it’d be an interesting read for the resident narcissist -

I agree we all have issues to resolve as each is responsible solely for his / her self. But lets not be oversimplistic, I don't think anyone ever "gets it done", its just a matter of some people trying harder than other. Obviously those who don't even bother trying, well, they lose their chance and I do not think there will be much salvation, as you put it, for them because their whole life was their chance.

Humanity lies not in the ability to do good, but in the ability to repent and try to reform oneself after badness. Its a continuous struggle. That is why we have a notion that one good deed / intention can "wipe out" several bad deeds.

Not only is it hard let go of things we like to do because they don't "agree" with Islam, its also quite difficult to do and maintain the things Islam does require us to do - I find it hard to pray the five daily prayers; it requires commitment and dedication, but I still struggle and try, because I have proved to myself (beyond reasonable doubt)that the Creator or a Supreme Being indeed exists and that Islam is the right Life Code, (I have to admit although born a Muslim, it took me a great while to work that out!)

The theoretics are simple; believe in a cause and you'll work for it, however hard it may be. So some people "just CAN'T" because they don't have the conviction, the belief.

Sure, with freedom, you SHOULD have responsibility, but when you have freedom without responsibilty (many examples around us today), then the consequences of that kind of freedom become disastrous.
