This time around it seems the govt is taking education reforms seriously. At least we hope they are.
First it was announced that the premier educational board, the Federal, will adapt a modern exam system, and all boards would follow within a year. Then it was announced that a uniform exam system will be implemented all over the country. All good decisions, but implementation is what matters.
Now educationalists are proposing free uniform compulsary 12 yrs of education for all. Good idea, very often dreamt of, but let’s see how it’s implemented. wouldnt be easy. But must be done with full force.
What should be paid the greatest attn or what’s most vital for education reforms in Pakistan, given the condition of the education system?
Should improving the quality of teachers and their dedication to pupil be given priority?
or should building more schools be given priority?
or should it be spreading awareness and making sure all attend schools where available and meanwhile try to reach where schools arent available?
or should improving available schools be made top priority first and then move on to other things.
(by schools i mean colleges and univ too).
The system is such a mess i cant see where they’ll begin to achieve better and quick results.
That's a thought, theoretically it's very reasonable, if it's going to be uniform and free, then there shouldnt be any elitest education. yes there could be a few pvt institutions but the mainstream schools should be good enough for all, rich or poor, leaving little need for average low to upper middle class families to send kids to a nonmainstream (pvt and expensive) school.
The girls drop out to ‘get married’… most of the girls atleast this much I know.
Boys, I dont know why they would be dropping out of their schools. Maybe discouragement from their ‘uneducated’ parents or family. Very negative attitude towards getting education of previous generation even in today’s world. I dont know how this has been developed.
Awareness is very important among other things. I mean awareness that education is important no matter what he/she wants to do in life.
All the point you have mentioned are important and should be given attention to. Not just one or two.
Improving the quality, no question about that.
Building more schools, definitely.
Promoting education to as many people as possible, a definite yes.
Creating awareness among people that EDUCATION IS IMPORTANT and MUST BE compulsaory NO MATTER WHAT.
Making it easier to be accessible by each an every individual of Pakistan. No matter where he/she lives, a village, a small town or a large city.
Government must build special schools buildings for all these kids and women standing on each street begging for a few coins. They should be loaded in cars/vans and taken to these schools and provided free education. So they would LEARN something and use it to improve their lives during the time which they spend pissing other citizens off spreading their hands and making their small babies follow their footsteps.
What will these babies learn to do when they grow up??? All these parents allowing their innocent kids to beg must be PUNISHED by the law. Are they not capable of doing anything… I mean ANYTHING but BEG???
Just imagine if each of these individuals (who think they are good for nothing but beg, take drugs, rob) learned to be constructive, how the Pakistani society will change.
The most important thing which they need is SELF RESPECT and an HONEST and ethical way of life. And they can be taught not just bey making them read books showing them IT IS POSSIBLE by practically DOING it. Well, it spreads. Just like bad things, the good things also spread. Good things take longer cz it is ‘boring’, bad things, the devilish ways, easier to spread cz it is ‘exciting’.
Teach them there is alot more to life than wasting time watching bollywood movies, eating paan, smoking, watching/seeling/buying porn, being corrupt, practising magic bullsh!t. Oh yeah, this reminds me, all these shops advertising big maulanas promoting magic bullsh!t to ‘get rid of each and every problem of life’ should be closed down by police.
There should be a special operation only to close down this magic business. And all the ‘daari walay owners’ of these shops and business must be sent to JAIL instantly. It’s about time our government start this operation. I mean do our already JAHIL people need more of this??? Is there a hope for them??? The places occupied by these shops must be used to make more colleges and learning places.
Every sane individual must take the responsibility and help government in getting rid of these evils. If after 7+ years, all this does not help improve the Pakistani society over all, come and shoot me, I’ll give you my address.
Where is ‘Islam’??? Is islam only about burqa and 4 marriages??? What do our women need? What do our men need??? EDUCATION!!!
ho yeah, now I know... the male drop outs. I mean men drop out to become thieves and robbers. I mean that's what they do right? All these young thieves in the market and these robbers.... some of them good looking guys but they ROB houses??? Because they think EDUCATION will not help them earn the money they can earn by a simple robbery in a house. Well, where do they learn his from??? From Quran, right? Cz their mamaas beat them up for talking to a female classmate cz it is 'not islamic' (I mean my sister told me) but everything else is okay.
Girls will drop out to get married or backwards ideas from parents that their education isnt important, they wont use it afterwards (they get married a second later and have babies and no time to go bak to school).. Never ever believe when a potential rishta tells you "yeah we'll let you study after marriage"..
