I found this interview by Greg Chappel extremely innovative, interesting and informative. He throws light on Australia’s marvelous success in modern cricket. I admit that the content of interview is not new and most of the information that he provided, we are already aware of it. However, some how i found his style very refreshing. he seems to be a very open person with a relaxed style. For instance, he very proudly comments about the excellence of Australian cultre and yet it did not offend me at all. Not only that, furthermore, he dares to suggest the lack of unity as well as importance of individualism in some other cultres ( we all know which cultres he is refering to). Again, i have to agree with him. He also refers to lack of facilities in “third world” countries. He uses the terminology “third world”, un-common and considered to be very rude these days, as it has been repalced by a terminology “under-developed countries” (to give some sort of boost to our shattered ego) but i can see the positive intentions behind his statment. Anyway, the article does provide a lot of food for thoughts. Seems like we have almost missed the train. If england and south africa ( which are not “third world” countries) start acting upon the australian system (and they do have all resources for sure), we will be no where. Just read the process involved in austrlian sucess and then imagine we have amer sohail as our chief slector. And not to mention the recent fights among three Biggies of our cricket set-up..and yes also the bribe scandol in India…The Writing is on the wall…
Comments are welcome.
I always thought of Ian Chappell as a very outspoken fellow but I never thought of him as such a brown nose personality.
"Indian can topple Australia"
What joke!
India can only pray till they are brutally slaughtered, as of this moment no team in the world can come close to beating Australia, in test or one dayers.
What is with all this nonsense about the Australians not being talented, they are talented as they come.
You can't score 380 runs while being just "Mentally tough"

Well u can ..... all this little extra is just ..... U've to
1. be an Aussie
2. be a Lefthanded Batsman
3. open in Tests with Langer and in ODIs with Gilchrist
4. hungry for runs
Greg and Ian are different, I think you are confusing the two
Secondly India can topple Australia doesn’t mean they will. When two teams play both have a chance to win, it depends on who does the best on that particular day
Well not doubt about the fact that the article is well informative..One thing whch made me to post this reply was the fact taken by some members that India would topple australia..Chappel is not taking about the test match, he's referring to the cycle where Australia's dominance would end..Seriously I couldn't stop laughing when I read Umair's reply..For God sake read the atricle before you post something..No hard feelings..

come on jind....i appreciate the fact that you read the whole article and got to the main point but come on yarr, dont pick on anyone. i dont blame umair at all because at the first glance, anyone wud get the same impression. Plus, i dont think umair was worng. if you read the last few questions, u will realize that in those questions the whole discussion is focussed on current aus-india test series. Yes, Chappel is talking about fortcoming aus-india test matches and as a matter of fact he is discussing each and every ground and the pitches involved. And yes, he belives that india can beat aus in coming "test matches" if they do this, this and this. and I guess that is where umair disagreed with him>
However, wut u r refering to is the first part of the interview where they are taking a macro-analysis approach (bigger picture). In that part, they are talkin about the importance of a well established process as well significance of cycle. However, later part of interview is based on micro-analysis in which they only discussed one particular event which is aus-india forth coming series.
Anyway, i careless wut chappel says about india-aus series. I am only interested in the bigger picture and for that purpose,i found first 6 questions very interesting. The guy is talkin about some soild stuff with some deep thoughts such as strentgh of aus team also stems from strong aussie cultre etc.that is why i thought i may share it with you guys...
