Is a hajj valid if a non muslim pays a muslim fellow to perform it? Is this legal. Will the non muslim become a muslim and get the credit? In simple words; can a non muslim perform hajj for a non muslim?
Question 2: Will a non muslim get sawab if he sends and takes the responsibility of all the hajj related charges?
Here's the answer I received for the questions posted above:
[quote]
Al-Salâm `Alaykum wa Rahmah Allah wa Barakâtuh.
A non-Muslim cannot perform a valid pilgrimage on behalf of himself or on behalf of anyone else.
The non-Muslim must first accept Islam before any pilgrimage with respect to that person can be valid.
Indeed, even a Muslim cannot perform the pilgrimage for another person unless he or she has already performed a valid pilgrimage for his or her own self.
And Allah knows best.
