Sorry, not buying that. Colonial aspirations were done in the name of Christianity. You can find that was definitely true in the slaughter of millions of natives of the Americas because they were “heathens”, and even in the British colonial of Palestine after the end of WWI. A British official is famous for saying that finally the Christians took back Jerusalem from the Muslims.
You can even go further and say the Muslim imperialism was not done “in the name of religion” but mainly to advance the political aspirations of certain ruling elites. But the ruling elites did use or (misuse) the name of religion for their goals.
Did you make that graphical chart yet to prove your point? Or can we assume your assumption was wrong to begin with?
