had rumi lived in today’s balkh, he’d have been executed in a football field for his writings..

anyway, no one’ll dispute the presence of tolerant elements and movements within almost every faith - but by and large, they all come with barbs and daggers drawn at other faiths and ways of life. those that try to sooth these jagged edges like the sufis, get often labelled by purists as wayward. there are simply things that can not be reconciled between most faiths - even minute differences.. like those between shias and sunnis, or sunnis and ahmedis.. are sufficient for annual killings.

Such minute differences that cause killings are due to the nature of human beings, not the religions that they practice. Even if there was no religion on Earth there would still be some excuse made to divide and label us all.
