I must say I have noticed that among Pakistanis. Be it the obvious abuse and sexism or the subconscious one. As an example nobody cares that our first Gold Medal this year in the Asian games came from the Women’s cricket team of Pakistan.
Sure its a small issue, but we all know sitting in cafes and under ground sheesha places in Pakistan we always ignore the female aspect of our society. Be it in public, in social events etc.
Societal change requires more than just lip service to ideals. It requires concrete action.
All starts with development and reformation of institutions. The ineptness and biased attitude of our police is evident from the article. They take their cues from the powerful elite, not from justice. Until the day our police and judiciary begin acting independently, crimes against women, men, and humanity in general will continue to go unpunished.
And comparing it to PTI jalsas is not going to bring any brownie points. Societal injustice does not exist because of PTI’s sit-in.
I wonder if OP understands the term "Khisyani billi Khamba nochay", what has this got anything to do with PTI sit ins?
It is an important issue and you didn't need masala to bring attention to this, immense amount of education is required to highlight this issue but surely politicising it won't ever help it one bit.
Its called marketing. Posting a thread about the abuse of women in Pakistan would get little attention by you lot. It hasn’t in 20 years. Its like that pathetic thread about the woman being raped that devolved into a PTI - PML (N) mud slinging match. That is all you lot focus on.
Regardless its interesting to note that people ignored the issue and focused on the PTI comment which was just three words in the title. It also shows how irritated you guys get when some one mentions PTI.
