So I happened across this video on the internet of a woman named Taylor Chapman on the net, in which she is seen hurling racist abuse at employees of a Dunkin Donuts in South Florida. One of the Employees is named Abid Adar, while the main target is the girl at the drive through named Nithi. Basically Taylor claimed to have not received a receipt and decided to go on a racist rant over not being given her free meal. Abid is seen apologizing and promising to get her whatever she wants, which he does, and Nithi is seen to be remaining calm and composed despite all the abuse, (she’s called a Sand N*gger Arab, and some nonsesne over World Trade center, despite Nithi obviously being Indian and Hindu.. )
Now for all of you who might think Americans are “horrible” people, just take a look at all the support for Abid and Nithi. People are even suggesting opening a fund for Abid who wants to become a doctor. in fact, so disgusted by her behavior we’re average Americans, that Chapman had to shut down her Facebook , Twitter etc accounts for all the hate she was receiving.
American policy may not be to everyone’s liking, but American people are generally a very nice and decent people. I often find myself touched by their sincerity. You guys should read the comments on this site…
I couldn’t agree more! Sure there are a few crazies, but for the most part, Americans (Soutnerners in particular ) are so hospitable and accepting of others…I wish out crappy foreign policy wouldn’t overshadow the good and generosity I see on a daily basis
Whats an op? And who are "we" ?
Hate is a tricky thing. its difficult to hate one thing, and not hate everything associated with it. So hating US policy invariably can lead to hating American people, because that is the nature of Hate.
Now you assume to much of the capacity to discern between a govt and her people among your fellow Pakistanis. While you might assume your smart enough to understand the difference between the two, many Pakistanis, even well meaning ones tend to view the people and govt as a singular form. And it doesnt help when certain extremists obfuscate the matter even further by claiming all supporters of US policy (American voters/Tax payers) are guilty of support or complicity. Nor does it help when certain extremists will foam at the mouth screaming for Sharia (which hasn't happened in the US thankfully, but has in the UK).
And its also a rebuttal to SOME of the extremists on this forum ( perhaps you are one), who are obviously trolling the internet looking for anything to reinforce their bigoted and shortsighted view of the world.
And perhaps they are able to discern, then all this does is serve as a reminder.
well then you and your kind Assume too much. hate ttp, but learn to differentiate between a struggle and terrorism. your the smart one, don't need me reminding u of this ;)

TTP?!?! Struggle?
You know, Hitler also had a struggle... He wrote book on it.
The people can be nice as they want.. The majority of people in all countries are decent friendly hospitable people. In fact countries like pak, Afghanistan, iran are culturally famous for their hospitality to foreigners and guests. Its not a unique phenomena.
What the issue is how those people that you elect, have a horrendous indiscriminate foreign policy, that turns people against you. And then folks like you sitting there and defending that policy, is not doing america any favours. Its not too hard to understand really. American lives or interests are NOT any more significant or superior than anyone else in the world. Big guns and school boy bullying never made anyone popular in school..and def not on the international arena either.
oh yea, you always ask pakistani people to not blame america and fix their own corrupt government.
Why don't you make the same demand to the american people?. They have got best democratic system in the world. Theirs is the Govt of they people, by the people and for the people.
How do you absolve american citizens of all responsibility regarding the foreign policy?

Well I dont defend America where its wrong.. But then, much of the time, on this forum for example, ignorance is passed of as insight and is used by certain members to inform their critique of America. So if im guilty, its only off setting the record straight and not tolerating stupidity and ignorance.

Yes, this is an example of of the very same ignorance i was referring too. We DO make the same request of Americans... But if you havent noticed, there are no Americans on this forum to make that request to.
We absolve the American people the same way we absolve Pakistanis of tolerating extremists, bigots and religious chauvinists. I mean, they did just elect a govt which allied with a party that is suspected to have links with a banned sectarian outfit guilty of murdering Hundreds of Shia. With all the things Pakistanis tolerate and even support, is that even a question that deserves a serious response... Pakistanis are the same people who have made it a law forbidding certain people from "posing as Muslims."\
And your critisizing America! Hypocrisy in its most blatant form.
Its a disease called mental slavery. Requires nothing but deep worship at the expense of your own self respect.
Mental slavery... clever!
You seem to be a slave to your own prejudices and ignorance. Why not educate yourself and liberate your mind, instead of wallowing in your own stupidity ?

same can be said to you... is the glass half full or.. ?
If you are a shining example of an educated and liberal mind.. Then no thanks...pls Leave me in my cave.
I dont claim to be an example for anything. Im not even trying to suggest any single ideology. Im just saying use your head... Why insult cavemen? even they had some smarts.
All im doing is demonstrating what it is about America that we admire. If you we're genuine, and sincere, if you were to study America as a whole, you would see a great many things to admire aswell. Sure its a work in progress, but at its heart, America in many ways, is a nation worth emulating. Although, there are many things in all the Western nations which are worthy of admiration. Englands welfare system, Canadian health care, the general tolerance and respect in these nations.
Another example, having gone to school in the US, I was always impressed by the level of respect shown towards other faiths including Islam. Far more respectful are they of opposing faiths then we are in Pakistan I should add. Mosques here have often hosted local politicians and community leaders. Can Muslim countries say the same? When they burned down all those homes in Lahore, did any of the politicians visit a Church to apologize?
