Does anyone remember how in the 90s a bunch of Afghanis who entered the border came and kidnapped pakistani pakhtun school children from Peshawar and held them hostage in the afghan embassy in Islamabad and demanded money and stock loads of wheat or they would kill them.
All it took was 3 Pakistani SSG commandos who went in and killed all those bacha-kidnappers!! Taught them a nice lesson. When people in Afghanistan found out about them being shot, they stoned the Paki embassy in Kabul. tsk tsk
On Sunday, February 20th, 1994, three Afghans kidnapped a school bus with seventy four students, six female teachers, a male teacher and an office clerk. The hijackers took control of the bus at the Haji Afghan refugee camp on the outskirts of Peshawar as it was picking up students for school. Afterwards, they forced the bus driver to drive to Islamabad. There the hijackers took the bus to the Afghan mission in Islamabad and conveyed there demands to the government. Initially, the hijackers’ demands included opening of the Pakistan-Afghan border to allow more refugees to enter Pakistan, and well as highlight the poor conditions of the refugee camps in Pakistan.
Pakistan’s then Interior Minister, Naseerullah Babar, was heading the negotiations which were fruitful as the hijackers released 57 of the hostages. However, the hijackers kept 16 boys and a teacher with them and issued new demands including $5 million dollars in cash and a helicopter to take them into Afghanistan. They were to exchange the students with new hostages once the helicopter had arrived, including the Afghan ambassador and some senior Pakistani officials. Later, through further negotiations, the hijackers released more hostages and kept five children and a teacher. However, as the hijackers started becoming more hostile and impatient, the decision was taken to quickly neutralize the threat with a commando raid on the hijackers. The decision to carry out the operation was taken by the corps commander in consultation with the Afghan ambassador. The operation took only a few minutes to complete its objectives and none of the hostages were hurt. All three hijackers however were killed in the exchange. The Pakistani authorities had somehow managed to inform the children of the impending raid. The SSG commandos used a secondary explosion as a distraction and entered the room at the Afghan embassy where the hostages were being held, killing the three hijackers.
the people in afghanistan who actually want to do something have no economical resources...even their protesting goes fruitless. the gov is an aritificial stastical standing. and when the people have nowhere to go - extreme conditions call for extreme measures.
Pink, this incident took place in 1994, even before the time of the Taliban dear, so the whole idea of the US invasion and helplessness doesnt make sense.
Hey we are all brothers from both sides of the durand. But guess what? Do you all remember 7/7 when the bombers or terrorists were all of Pakistani origin? Or do you remember daniel pearl, or the cartoon in washington post.
Pink, the Talibobs took power a little after that, to restore order to a barbaric situation. Dsabz, brothers lol, that sprecisely why your brothers' children in Afghanistan kidnpapped 70+ of your school children and put their life at stake. They got what they deserved though, I heard one of them got shot in the buttocks too. hehe Long live SSG.
Sabzi Man, your analogies dont make sense, even if they are true. Prove to me if any Pakistani (pakhtun or non-pakhtun) did such cowardly things to Afghanis, like holding school children hostage.
How are these incidents related to what some scums did in school? Do you think those kidnappers were doing a noble deed? Failure to condemn some criminal just because they happen to be of your kind only leads to falling further.
Captain, what surprised me was that the Pakistani embassy in Kabul was stoned right after the terrorists were killed. I mean not just by 100 or 200 people, but thousands.
yeh anyone can act tough online, wait till the tables turn my friend. The reason I said the message was that tmx created this thread as a way of insulting the people of afghanistan, its not different then a racist white person quoting an inident about black people or muslims as a way of spreading hate. I didn't mean to illtalk pakistani people, most of them are good people, I got no hate.
ive got no pros with u dissing pakis. Lol ,afghans and their pride, everyone knows ur race is the biggest joke. Im just sayin that we dont care what the whites think, they can generalise about us, and we can say stuff about afghans. Ur bringing this upon urselves, if u ppl had just stayed in ur own country, not botheree the pakhtuns in nwfp, none of this would have happeneded.
It was a terrible incidents. You ended it when you called them thugs. What more is their? What they did was bad, I have never supported such incidents, neither does any decent human being.
afghans = pakhtuns, stop spreading nonsense. What about the pashtuns that are dying because of the pak army? Should we forget that? They were thugs and no one an justify their actions, but you are using such a incident to bring division amongst one nation.
