A Marine's Letter Home

yaar mufak, I never claimed the letter was real. I just presented it as an amusing item that provided insight on Franco-US relations, all of which (as I said) is true. Do you consider France a military power?

yaar stu, at least check what u post..

:hehe:

no matter how butch she was, the frenchman would only have romanced her and not called her a “cowboy”..

Yesterday I learned why trees line the Champs Elysée. It was so the Germans could march in the shade.

Whether the letter is real or fictional, the contents are pretty accurate and reflective of French and American attitudes.

can we please have more letters. I am sick and tired of teh amount of disrespect we have for or airforce ppl. I want to see letters from them, faxes from army soldiers..but please nothing from Navy..I think I know what their letters will be full of.

isn't the whole world so jealous of the USA

You never stated it was a fake as well when you posted it, which sounds a lot like what the UK government tried to do with its plaigirised report on Iraq the other week. :hehe:

Stu Bhai,

Ok granted you never said that but you did unwittingly or otherwise imply that it was real, but that is a separate issue. An interesting insight into Franco-US relations it may be but the part about kicking Frenchie's ass? For hand to hand there is no technological prowess needed, and somehow I don't think French military training is based entirely on eating Crepes and drinking wine. She is a hypothetical woman officer and he is a hypothetical male officer. You really think she could have kicked his ass GI Jane histrionics aside?

err.. that's answered by the US Army themself who do not allow female soldiers on the front lines.

"You really think she could have kicked his ass GI Jane histrionics aside?"

As I said, I presented it more as an amusing item than a factual one. That's the punchline, even though I would question the abilities of a French solider. I agree w/Seminole above, the term itself is an oxymoron.

the name itself is fictious.

mods move/delete this thread. fiction doesnt deserve to be in the World Affairs section.

Paaa Stu,

So what of what is true? maybe I am confused here.

Why would you question the abilities of a French soldier are thay so inadequate (I seriously don't know, but I did not think they were that bad).

Pakistani Abroad: Do the marines allow women in the fighting arms?

If you thought it was a joke you would have posted it in the Jokes Forum. As it is you thought it was real without realising it was fake, and posted it here. :hehe:
