a little help plzzzzz....

Ok sorry to sound stupid, but i just don’t know, i was reading a post, and it talked about these people and seriously have no idea what they mean, ok i know the difference between shais and sunnis(i think i do) but what are wahabis and ahmedis…
And are there like any other groups??

Khuda kisi ko kis par fidaa na kare…
Agar kare to Qyamat tak judaa na kare…

i will try to make it very short..i will let the others describe their beliefs..ahmedi are the people who believe Prophet Mohummad wasnt the last Prophet, they still have Prophets coming i think..and Wahabi believe Prophet Mohummad was an ordinary human being

"Prayer is a shield for the believer. When you knock on the door repeatedly it is sure to be opened for you. - Imam Ali (as)"

"..Say (O' Muhammad unto mankind): I do not ask of you any reward for it but love for my relatives(Ahlul-Bayt)"Holy Quran(42:23)

(after his last pilgrimage) the Holy Prophet (saw) stood to give us a speech beside a pond which is known as Ghadir Khum & said,"I am leaving for you 2 precious things.First of them is the book of Allah in which there is light & guidance...
The other one is my Ahlul-Bayt.
I remind you in the name of Allah about my Ahlul-Bayt.(3 times)Sahih Muslim,Chapter of the virtues of the companions, section of the virtues of Ali,1980 Edition Pub. in Saudi Arabia, Arabic version,v4,p1873,Tradition #36.
Then the Prophet held up the hand of Ali and said:"Whoever I am his leader,Ali
is his leader.O God,love those who love him,& be hostile to those who are hostile to him."(Sunni hadith:
Sahih Tirmidhi,v2,p298)
The Prophet said to Ali:"Glad tiding O Ali!Verily you & your companions & your Shia followers will be in Paradise."Sunni hadith:Hilyatul Awliyaa,v4,p3

Ok thanks again Sherazz bhai....first of all Imam Mehdi, is supposed to be human...or like something else? And if human than did he die when he was 6, or just dissapeared??? And this question you don't have to answer, if it's personal or something but what do you consider yourself....shaia, sunni, or one of those other two i didn't know about???

Khuda kisi ko kis par fidaa na kare.....

aapkiamanat we believe 14 people to be infallible, Prophet, Bibi Fatima, and 12 Imams..Imam Mehdi is infallible as well..he didnt die..he dissappeared at the age of 6..He will come back when God wills..and dear u are old enough and smart enough to know who i am

Sheraaz bhai seriously, i got confused in some places you are supporting the sunnis and other places the shais…but he is human, how can he just come back, i understand the Jesus will come back, because he never actully died, and every human has to die…or something like that..

Is he supposed to come near Judgement day…and i don’t know if this is right, but like the dajaal is going to come and Imam Mehdi and Jesus are going to fight him or something like that…

Oh yeah one more thing, when he comes is he going to be like 6, or a grown man???

aapkiamaanat,
Here is the requested reply.
Well I believe that knowledge should be an amaanat and should not be made fun of like sherazz is doing above.
Well there is a religious group called Qadianis or Mirzais. These people are not muslims. They themselves are divided into two groups Ahmedis and lahoris.None of these are muslim at all. They may claim to be muslim but niether sunni nor shia regard them as muslim.
Now within muslims there are sects of course, mainly shia and sunni.Within these then there are other branches. Now wahabi is a controversial term but I can tell u they are not shias but sunni muslims.Anyway the name is controversial,I doubt anyone calls himself as Wahabi.Anyway there was an sunni Alim(scholar) called Abdul Wahab. He lead a movement to cleanse Islam of innovations in Islam. However he was by no means the only one to do so.And neither did everyone agreed with his interpretation. Some of those who didn't call those who do as 'wahabis'.This much is pure impartial information. However I think I will not go any further. You can at best perhaps regard them as a school of thought among sunnis.
As for Imam Mehdi he is someone who will come near the qiyamah, before hazrat Isa(A.S.)and will be a great leader of muslims.Simple as that.
Note:shias hold there own particular beliefs about Imam Mehdi, not agreed by sunnis. Some of them are those that sherazz is reffering to.

aap.ki.amanat: Allow me to sketch in brief about Ahmadis. I feel it will be fair and appropriate if others also define themselves respectively.

Who are Ahmadis?*

They draw their name from the Holy Prophet of Islam who is known by his two attributes, i.e. Mohammed (the Gracious) and Ahmad (the Amiable).

Their movement was started by, **Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad* (1835-1908)* who was born in Qadian, a small village in northern India. Basing himself on continuous revelations from God, he announced that **he was the Messiah whom the faithful of various religions in the world had been expecting under different names. **He came to unite all religions and all mankind. He preached the revival of Islam within the respect of tradition. 100 years later, His message has prompted the establishment of flourishing communities in more than 148 countries.

The followers of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad believe that he is the same Messiah and Mahdi whose coming was foretold by Holy Prophet Mohammed(SA) and was eagerly awaited by all Muslims. His followers call themselves Ahmadi-Muslims, only to differentiate themselves from Muslims of other Islamic sects, and strictly follow the true tenets of Islam.

Ahmadiyyat is neither a new religion nor a new faith, in fact its a true Islam -- the Islam which was presented by Holy Prophet Mohammed(SA), some 1400 years ago. So it is a movement entirely within the fold of Islam, meant to revive its true sprit and philosophy, to cleanse Islam of all superstitious and unnecessary beliefs and customs which had crept in over the past fourteen centuries, and finally, to preach the religion of Islam to non-Muslims with the enthusiasm and zeal of the early Muslims.

As far as the fundamental beliefs or act of worship is concerned, Ahmadi-Muslims have neither taken anything out nor added any thing new to the religion of Islam. The Ahmadi-Muslims make their declaration of faith by reciting the same Kalima which was recited by the Prophet Mohammed(SA) himself; they say their Prayers and Fast in the same manner as the Holy Prophet(SA) of Islam did; and their Qibla -the Ka’ba; their Azan and their are Quran all exactly the same as that of the other Muslims.

Now the Islamic world recuses that enrichment. Rightly or wrongly, that is beside the point - Ahmadis submit that they are aiming at restoring the original purity of Islam and ridding It of the slag which has encrusted It through the centuries. For such a crime, they put them in the category of heretics. They usurped the fundamental religious and human rights of the Jama’at-e Ahmadiyya to perform Islam to be its faith and persecuted them at all levels.

Today the followers of Ahmad have become the most dynamic missionary force in Islam. They have translated the Holy Quran into 80 languages and selected verses of the Holy Quran into 160 languages and established missions, hospitals and schools in over 180 countries and directed doctors, teachers and engineers to work along side their missionaries. Thousand of children are already dedicated to become missionaries to convert Russia, China, America and other small countries of the world.

24 hours a day 7 days a week their own satellite system, universally known as MTA (Muslim Television Ahmadiyya) is one of a kind in the whole Islamic world, sending the message of Islam in different languages through out the world. It will be a showoff to say, through this only tool, this year over 40 million people entered into the fold of Islam - the task which the whole ummah cant achieve collectively.

Whether or not one share their faith, the fact remains that the Ahmadis form a group of citizen who are respectful of the law of any country and contribute to the betterment of their mosaic.
