I’ve been a silent reader of this forum for quite some time now .. and I’ve always got the best ideas from here.
I’ve always been fascinated by the colorful spreads of our weddings and have been planning a few for my friends who got married last year .. but now that it’s my turn to get married .. I feel so lost and there’s no one to help .. not a sibling .. not a friend sigh =(
A little help from you ladies would go a long way =)
I’ll be getting married in Lahore in early nov 2012 and I’ve got no idea where should I start from .. so the questions that initially arise in my mind are :
Where should I get my makeup done from in Lahore that would make me feel special on my day .. I really don’t want to be a part of queue to get my make up hair done. The pre - bridal services and when should they be started from ?
What is the best place to get my dress from and it should not be more than 70k .. I don’t feel the need to splash out money on a dress to be worn on a single day.
Wedding List — ??? I’ve tried sitting down with a cup of green tea and a relaxed mind .. trying to jot down things that would be needed .. but I’m blank =(
Oh and by any chance .. can I get a price quote on this dress ?

Depends on your budget.. if you're willing to spend Rs.30-50.000, then Mariam Khawaja is the absolute best one out there! My sister went to Uzma's and they are amazing too! she's not that expensive either and her salon is super fresh. She charges 25k which includes bridal mehndi, bridal make-up, facial, waxing and treading.
Everything except the faical should be done a couple of days before the shadi, the salon's should be able to help you with this.
There's a shopping place called anarkali (or something of that sort) they have nice dresses. You will have to trust your own taste and maybe mix 2-3 bridals up to make your dress! :) Otherwise, I think Zardori, Mosin's ect should be able to work within that budget :)
I know, it was really hard for me too.. What i did was make a list of stuff i wanted to buy from here and not pakistan - lingerie, make up ect. I made a list of color combos i like i would like to make clothes in those shades (i knew i would otherwise just end up with either pink or green!) I also made a list of the amount of clothes i want to buy - how many sarees,.formals, casuals ect. Make a "to do list" which should help you organize the wedding. You can put stuff like booking the MUA, ordering shadi/mehndi/valima jora, ordering jelwery ect on it.
that's Maria B wearing one of her own creations. I would guess somewhere around 1.5-2 lakh. she's wearing a churidaar so it might be cheaper than a lehnga/gharara. Best thing to do is to go there and ask them. If you call they will give you a higher rate! I was told 4 lakh for a dress at the designer, and when i went there she was willing to make it for 2 lakh!!
My in - laws are based in Islamabad .. and I have no idea on the best parlors of Islamabad who would be the best choice on walima day .. I really don't want to end up looking like someone who landed from cartoon network =(
Could you people be more specific on the wedding list ? What do I need to shop for .. the essentials ?
