A little bird called me today and told me that the elections in Pakistan were rigged and run by ISI, something along the lines of MMA (military mullah alliance) and accepting the degrees of madrassahs as legitimate degrees of a college/uni. In addition Book implying Quran was used as a symbol to extort votes. This allowed Mullahs (I dont mean in a derogative manner) to come to power in places where they did not have solid footings. Is this true? I know it happened a long time (1-3) ago. If it has been discussed before my apologies.
Upon further discussion with the bird it told me that this time the mullah were using the war on terror to their advantage in the up coming elections(1-3) as well. Is this true?
While I abhor using religion for political will, it seems to be the norm lately we just witnessed it in US recently. Is it that humans tend to come together under the banner of religion in times like this?

well verizon i dunno abt the specifics but I was in khi on vacations during the elections and I was surprised at the results. I mean Jamaat-e-Islaaami never used to win so many seats. Especially In Khi. I beleive in khi MQM wins all the seats of N/A except 1. But during this election MMA won some seats in KHI. I believe 2-3 but that was a very big surprise for ppl in Khi. In total they won 53 SEATS.
As far as I am concerned I don't care if MQM, MMA, PML-Q, PML-N, or PPP wins- All of them will cheat the country in the same way.

Yes verizon, mullahs were deifnitely using the war on terror to their advantage in Pakistan. Infact I beleive that was the only factor for MMA'S success, otherwise these losers never win seats in Pakistan.
