I’m in Norway and I want to study further in the UK for the course Accountancy
Im 16 years old right now and I want to study there from the next year, when I’m 17 till my 19th.
Should I begin with the A-levels the next year?
And are the A-levels really that difficult,
How many subjects do you have to choose for the 2 years?
A Levels are difficult if you do not work hard. Most people do 3 A Levels, maybe 4. A Levels are split over 2 years comprising of AS Level exams in the 1st year and then A2 levels in the 2nd year.
For Accontancy at uni I'm guessing that you'll need to do Maths and 2 or 3 other subjects but then you should check with the relevant universities that you want to apply to as they will all have different entry requirements.
Is maths necessary for accountancy in uni?
Can't I choose any other subjects instead maths?
Something like Economy, French and English.
Does the uni's ask you which subjects you've done in the A-levels?
yes at 16, in the uk, students start their a-levels. these take two years as you already know. after that to get into uni you have to be cleared by ucas. the ucas process takes months, so you have to start your ucas application by the middle of your second year in alevels
you also have to bare in mind the requirements of the actual course you want to do at uni. this will point you in the direction of what alevel courses you should do and what grades are required to get into your prefered uni.
at this stage you need to visit the website of your prefered uni and find out exactly what the requirements are and visit ucas to to familliarise yourself with the application procedure

Thanksss.,,,,
Hey there, I'm starting my A-levels in September. Firstly, A-levels will take 2 years for you to complete, so if you come here at 17, you'll finish at 19 ONLY if you pass all your exams and don't need extra time to re-sit. And yeah, A-levels are important to get to uni, they're like a bridge between you and uni. Also the thing with accounting is that, from what I know, there really isn't any kind of specific A-level subject requirement, you kind of start from scratch with the degree.. A lot of people think Maths is needed, but it really depends on each uni and you've got to research into it. English is always good to get you into any uni course, Economy sounds good too & yeah you can pick French and whatever you like. The amount of subjects you do, depends on you really. I'm taking 5 As levels, but in the 2nd year I'm only carrying on with 3. Anyway, good luck with whatever you choose to do and if you have any other questions, I'll be happy to answer them if I can :)
A-levels are very CRUCIAL. Even if you do terribly in your gcse's etc you can still get in with decent grades at A-levels. (Obviously depending on what you choose to apply for)
I did Bsc Accounting and finance.... you do not need to do maths A level and alot of top unis discourage people from taking accounting A levels too, instead they prefer people who have done economics instead.
As stated above look at university requirements and see what they want.
For the uni I attended they mentioned Maths A level as prefered but I still got in!
