They were playing this on TV last night. I’ve watched it before but couldn’t stop myself watching again. This is such a good movie. Another one of Tom Hanks’ best.
The story is about women’s playing in baseball league during world war II times. While men are away at war, women in America penetrate into every walk of life that was previously dominated by men. From working in factories to playing baseball. This tells the story of the first women’s baseball league ever launched in US.
There is a good balance of story telling of the game and skills, and difficulties endured in personal relationships in times of war. It’s quite touching and comic overall. Watch it if you already haven’t. :k:
This is an old classic. I watched it cause Madonna’s in it. Her song for the film is also really good … “This used to be my playground … this used to be my childhood dream … this used to be the place I ran to, whenever I was in need … of a friend … why did it have to end?”
