A lament..

A lament on the passing of Benazir Bhutto and the mindless violence that has followed and preceded her murder in Pakistan.

Pity the nation that acclaims the bully as hero, and that deems the glittering conqueror bountiful.
Pity a nation that despises a passion in its dream, yet submits in its awakening.
Pity the nation that raises not its voice save when it walks in a funeral, boasts not except among its ruins,
and will rebel not save when its neck is laid between the sword and the block.
Pity the nation whose statesman is a fox, whose philosopher is a juggler, and whose art is the art of patching and mimicking.
Pity the nation that welcomes its new ruler with trumpeting, and farewells him with hooting, only to welcome another with trumpeting again.
Pity the nation whose sages are dumb with years and whose strong men are yet in the cradle.
by Khalil Jibran

Rest In Peace Ms. Bhutto.

Re: A lament..

I do, but he’s fighting what seems like a losing battle with the establishment.

Re: A lament..

And you must be in favour of breakup of pakistan.

Re: A lament..

Dont mind him. Brother forgets to take medicine sometimes…more frequently lately!

So we were saying…

Awh yes! AH’s return…well he’ll get a tight security alright…wouldn’t want him arriving at the jailhouse dead, now do we? Let justice prevail! I’d love for him to claim ‘Pakistan is Just and Fair and all it took was my arrival’

As for the topic at hand and Zakk’s post!

Well it’s like this…we love to hate her as much as we want. But now that she’s deceased, we’re obligated to show respect because Allah alone is her judge now, not us. So we must speak of the good of teh deceased, learn from the bad and move forward with a lesson learned. Not fight amongst each other, and think for the country, not for a party or individual. Pakistan should be pure as its name suggests and unite as a nation built on principles, which unfortunately have long been forgotten or tucked away where eye can’t see and ears won’t hear.
