A lot of times we come across comments like " He is a hopeless case". At times the comment is by a cricket fan about a player, by a teacher about a student, by a doctor about a patient, by some elders about a handicaped or mentally retarded child.
BUT those people forget that the decision is “Only” in power of the ultimate Lord who has proven them wrong on a number of occasions.

Do you think a human has the right to give such a remark even if he is 100% sure about the failure of another person ?
True, Also "Hope for the best, but expect the worst". By saying "expect the worst" I mean that one should try his level best to achieve positive results by not taking anything lightly, also by thinking that anything worst can happen, so one should be well prepared and well equiped for the worst situations.
^ The above can be implied on a doctor dealing with the worst case of a patient, a teacher dealing with the worst student or an elders dealing with a child with very less capabilities ( in their OWN opinion respectively)
^ True, because when we don't lose hope, we are actually accepting the fact that everything is in the power of the ultimate Lord and nothing is impossible for Him, BUT at the same time we must also give our best efforts in the matters which are "within our capabilities and control".
Reminds me of a saying " I am mostly lucky because I mostly work hard" (without losing faith)

**you are right quran main to yayhi likha hai kay na ummidi kufr hai. Na ummidi ko allah nain is liaay kufr qarar dia hai kay is tarha hum jaddo jahad karna chor' dain gay. Aur jaddo jahad say to hum takqdeerain badal saktain hain yani jaddo jahad say to Allah khush ho kar hamari taqdeer badal sakta hai.
and Quran has references to hope as well. i will try to get some. i am going to work with a hopeful heart now.
so at least for a believing person, hope is an automatic to be had.

these kind of remarks was and is in use by teachers most of the time, they do want to de-grade a student by using these taunts and lines. what i have observed, in result the students come up with "SO BE IT" behaviour.
