Re: A historic debate between Islam and Jew-Christian

I just don't like the fact that irani people make pics of Prophet pbuh and Ahl-e-bait and dramas/plays on them. I just find that quite disturing and honestly the pictures and this drama thing takes away the focus from the actual message.

Why do you find them disturbing?

Why do you feel that it takes away the focus away from the actual message?

Re: A historic debate between Islam and Jew-Christian

I have not yet checked the videos, but I am shocked that there are people other than the danish, who draw pics of Prophet (saw). Also, do they draw pics of Ahl-e-bait and make dramas/plays on them ?

This is certainly not good in my humble opinion as the prophet (saw) and Ahl-e-bait are highly respected people, and no human can draw or represent their roles. In fact I think this act is kind of disrespectful, because what would be showed to common people would be not even 1% of reality and people would relate those images/ people with the Prophet (saw) and Hazrat Ali (r.a) whenever they hear about them. Also even if we select the most pious person presently living on earth to play the role of the Prophet (saw) or Hazrat Ali (r.a), he is of no worth to represent the kings of Heaven in terms of their amazing ways of doing each and every act and saying each and every word.

How would the artists present their beautiful faces full of "noor" with his limited knowledge and vision ?

How could anyone represent their beautiful voices ?

How could anyone represent their simple dressing yet full of "modesty" ?

I used to think that even in words people can't explain those amazing personalities, which can't be even visualized in mind, and here I am hearing people drawing pics and making dramas/ plays!

I might be wrong in some places, but this is what I sincerely feel and honestly understand.

Allah (s.w.t) knows BEST!

Re: A historic debate between Islam and Jew-Christian

Submission to peace, I respect your sentiments but i presonally i found the movie to be an execellent production and not offensive at all. I did have a problem with a movie they made on Bibi Maryam (as) where they showed her face. I am a teacher and despite the uncomfort i decided showing the movie to the little ones and it has increased their awareness much more than my readings or homeworks ever could. It got them interested and there were contemplation and there were questions.

There is also another movie on Imam Ali (as) made in Syria that has been approved by both ulemas in Najaf and Al Azhar alike. So as far as allowability is concerned, i am not a scholar and i know its a technical issue so we should refer it back to our ulemas.

I find pictures and people role playing Holy Prophet pbuh and Ahl-e-bait disrespectful. I don't have any problem with making of documentaries as far as they are not showing pictures. It takes away from the message as another debate on the use of pictures and role plays which can be completely avoided if we can just make documenteries and use quotes. I think there are thousand ways to pass a message in a non controversal way.

Also, just because something was approved by Saudia or Iran doesn't makes it acceptable.

Re: A historic debate between Islam and Jew-Christian

^ brother, FYI Najaf is in Iraq and Al Azhar is in Egypt.

Thanks sister for the vid.

Re: A historic debate between Islam and Jew-Christian

I know Najaf is in Iraq and alhazar is in egpyt. All I am saying is whatever comes through should not be accepted with closed eyes.

Since Allah is invisible and all powerful, I understand the command to not represent Him in the form of an image. However, to give that same level of respect (that I give to Allah) to some humanbeings, such as the prophet and his family doesnt seem appropriate to me. It seems disrespectful to Allah since HE is the only truly invisible being and not the Prophet. Making the prophet invisible seems to suggest there are two invislbe beings in Islam, God and Prophet. This seems like a shirik to me. The prophet was a man who ate, went to the bathroom and had sex etc. He was visible to the eye. So I dont want to pretend he wasnt. I guess it all depends on how you look at the issue. I agree there should not be images of the prophet in prayer rooms etc. However, I would be at no risk of worshipping the prophet if there was an image of him in my living room.

Once again, I am not insisting you are wrong. Just expressing how I see the issue.

Re: A historic debate between Islam and Jew-Christian

I agree with Lusi, it is very disturbing and something that i completely dislike. Even in narrating a hadith sahabis use to be a very precise so that a word wasnt added or wrong impression given. I find it absurd that filming can be as accurate. Its very melodramatic.
