A hadith that I came across

Assalamo alaykum,

While reading an article I came across the following hadith. I don’t think I have read in it the past or not that I can remember of. It’s certainly something that struck me and really is worth of sharing.

Ref:Important Lessons from Ramadan

May Allah (SWT) forgive us all and grant us the taufeeq to implement it, ameen.

Re: A worthy hadith

[quote]
Muhammad sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam – aspiring also for the excellence which he mentioned in his saying: "I am a guarantor for a house on the outskirts of Paradise for whoever leaves off arguing, even if he is in right; and a house in the centre of Paradise for whosoever abandons falsehood, even when joking; and a house in the upper-most of Paradise for whosoever makes his character good." (Saheeh: Abu Daawood and al-Bayhaqee, authenticated by al-Albaanee in as-Saheehah)

Can you please explain the underlined part? Is it about petty squabbles only or all kind of arguments? I mean some arguments are nothing but altercation/bickering, while others can be impassioned but constructive dialogues.

Re: A hadith that I came across

Amorphous, I'm not knowledgeable enough to explain it properly. When I read the hadith and came across that bit, I remembered all the times I argued where I could've just stayed quite. Personally, even when it comes to constructive arguments and dialogues, I stop after a while, as it gets meaningless and only causes problems for me and the other invovled than achieving anything.
