Amazing Sunnah: Why Attention
Diverted during prayers. Narrated Abu Huraira:Allah’s Apostle
said, “When the Adhan is pronounced
Satan takes to his heels and passes wind
with noise during his flight in order not
… to hear the Adhan. When the Adhan is
completed he comes back and again takes to his heels when the Iqama is
pronounced and after its completion he
returns again till he whispers into …the…
heart of the person (to divert his
attention from his prayer) and makes
him remember things which he does not recall to his mind before the prayer and
that causes him to forget how much he
has prayed.” Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 11,
Number 582
re: A Hadith of Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 11,
How come I never heard that noise of satan passing wind while azan is said or aqama is said.
I actually feel that so much peace and serenity has descended all around when azan and aqama is said.
I have no idea what this hadees is trying to convey ?
re: A Hadith of Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 11,
Well read the very first hadith in the book of bukhari and see what you find in there. A prophet who does not know what prophet-hood is. He needs to be told by others that he has been chosen as the divine messenger.
Hadith books need to be avoided unless one knows the quran first reasonably well or one could be misled to believe a lot of funny stories that have nothing to do with Allah or his rasool. It is because not all reports even in the so called authentic books of hadith may be true or sensible.

LOL
Passing wind is a natural function - but to do so with noise is to be rude ... Just like Jinn is in the ghaib, I guess his noisy flatulence is ghaib also ... Shaitan let's one go and runs off ... or gone with the wind !!! LOL
It's only to suit his own purpose - i.e. so that he does not hear it.
We cannot relate to the passing wind ... but we can indeed relate to the random thoughts that we remember during prayer when we are supposed to be remembering Allah (SWT) ...
I don't agree with the thread title though - this is not a Sunnah - in that it is not performed or legislated by RasoolAllah (SAW) - it is rather a practice of Shaitan.
BTW Mirch bhai - don't let adhan make you too calm ... you know being relaxed too much can cause us to lose wudu also ... :D
