Re: A good city for someone starting out in "amreeka"
Continuing education - do any of these cities have good and affordable universities?
Depending on the type of visa, you can't actually attend universities. You need to be a resident, or on a student visa to attend university.

Look at Austin. It's got nice weather, decent cultural life, high tech, and less rednecks than Houston or Dallas areas

Degree programs perhaps but for professional seminars and continuing education I don't think it matters.

Dont know where you would find them though. I have been here in Houston since 2006 and havent seen a single redneck.

Maybe your definition os rednecks is incorrect. The place is full of them.

hey nobody say anything to my rednecks. They are my true fans and the most patriots. With their help only I’ll kick all mexicans out

Can you please let me know the correct definition?
This is the one I googled:
red·neck
a working-class white person, especially a politically reactionary one from a rural area.

Was in Dallas a few weeks ago with my kids and didnt find many places of attraction, atleast from the kids point of view.
Austin was better, somewhat scenic compared to dallas.
