yes, you have read it correctly! i’m posting an English Ghazal. this Ghazal is the FIRST one i’ve ever seen…it’s a Ghair muraddaf Ghazal, meaning it had no radeef [the last one or more word that repeats in the first two misr’as of the matl’a and then follows in all the alternate misr’as]. however, this Ghazal is NOT in meter [bahr] or vazan.
i’ve also seen a murass’a [well balanced] Ghazal with radeef and qawaafii [the rhyming words that are found just before radeef] and properly metered…[in bahr and vazan].
