Every now and then there will be a desi lady who works out at the gym in shalwar kameez. Not only have I always found it odd and out of place to be wearing that while working out (especially in Montreal), but I always thought it could possibly be hazardous, due to the looseness of the clothing.
Anyway, the inevitable happened today while this particular lady was on the excercise cycle. She was pacing pretty quicky when suddenly the bottom part of her shalwar got caught somehow in the crank of the bike. Because of the momentum she was pacing at, she couldn’t stop in time and her shalwar was pulled into the crank which continued to turn, and it eventually tore all the way up her leg. Needless to say she was quite embarassed since her whole leg was showing. She then quickly got off the bike and pulled her leg away which seperated her shalwar from the cranck and proceeded to run to the bathroom leaving the remains of her shalwar wrapped up in the crank of the bike.
Well, I sometimes wear a dupatta at the gym. I get stares from girls all the time, but I just keep exercising. I wear long baggy pants usually and a long shirt.
Fret at home I work out in shorts and a work out tank top and same goes if its at a all girls gym. But at times when its not a all girls gym I wear jogging pants here we call them wind breakers and a a top. Thats what I wear also when I go jogging in the morning.

Fret, we have learned enough already that you work out in a gym and it's like totally a cool thing to do. Now stop.

Roman, this thread isn't about me. Now tell us if that has ever happened to you at the gym while wearing shalwar kameez.
i don't go to a gym..my room is my gym..i put on my dvd collection and work along with the instructions..and yes i even jump on trampoline in my room and do weights..so i wear from shalwar suits to pants and shirts..but when i go for walk and racquet ball etc..i wear stretch resistant pants and long shirts and my scarf.. and Fret, shalwar suit doesn't create any trouble if you watch out..i used to bicycle in shalwar suit back in pakistan in them :-)

Oh, I'm sure it works fine, but I guess it also depends on the type of bike. Different bike construction can make a difference, some are safer.
Reminds me of a girl at our gym , who on her very first day was trying that twisting plus jumping exercise ,her lose paincha of shalwar made her fell so badly, she almost twisted her ankle, she never returned after that! :)
No Fret, this thread is all about you. It's 'cause you started a thread on working out in gym before and now this. Now, if you had added this particular incident in the same thread then it would have been more relevant and cool but you keep opening new threads related to your gym-going every other day. That is still fine (I've had opened many threads on Cricket myself -- I know the excitement when you are into something and want to share 'n all with others) as long as you admit it. But if you don't then that means it's a pretense.
Roman, you’re off your rocker man. These are the only 2 gym threads I’ve ever opened, and both were not about me or the gym. Both were different topics so I put them in different threads.
It’s a nightmere man!! I know it’s not related to your topic but for the same reason I avoid wearing sharara and lehngas @ weddings…Kia pata kab kisi ke pair mai aakar phas jaaye…:o…saari izzat ki dhajjiyaan urr jayengi…
