Last night, a close friend of my fiance’s was shot to death in Houston (Texas, U.S.)…he was around 23 yrs old…i am so depressed rite now, i can’t imagine wot his family is going thru…i had hanged out with him a few times, but hadn’t seen him in about 2 yrs, but my fiance was close to him and they always went out together when he was living here…so of course my fiance is upset, undoubtedly…but he seems calm on the phone, just really shocked…this is not the first friend he has lost…i think he’s coping with it in his own way…he’s always joking around and making me laugh…and we have been talking about his friend all day, but from time to time he talks about something else or makes a joke about another topic…we r just in so much shock and so devasted 
…the guy was so young and he really was a nice person…not a big-mouth, not a show-off…all-around kind, gentle guy…he looked tough on the outside, but inside he was a great person, and my fiance had some wonderful times with him…and he says that he’s been having flashbacks of their times togther…i’m just so sad for him, i don’t want to keep bringing it up cos i think he just wants to deal with it in his own way…and of course, we r angry too…at the perpetrators…he was totally innocent, it was another guy those *******s were aiming at…may Allah bring some justice for our friend and his loved ones, Ameen…i just felt like coming here and saying something about this, about how i’m feeling rite now…not sure y i have opened this thread except, to ask for u to pray for him…so please, in ur next prayer, ask Allah to give him a place in Jannat…those guys who shot him deserve to burn in hell (sorry, i’m angry)… they just sped off…Allah have mercy

Someone I know was shot too some years ago. Apparently he had gotten into a fight with someone he didn't know well. I guess when it's your time to go, you go.
I hope they catch the people who shot your friend soon.

MYwish: thanks…and no it wasn’t a racist attack (as far as we know)…the guys who shot him were Sikh though, and our friend was Pakistani…the person he was with that night, was the one they wanted to “get”…but unfortuately, our friend was hit by mistake…it was in a drive-by 
TheNewWannabe: he wasn’t the target but the guy he was with (a club owner downtown), was supposed to get shot i guess…and i think the punjabi guys had some ongoing dispute with him, or didn’t like him or something stupid…and our friend was trying to defend him, and instead…

I know…yes, they were Sikhs…i hope they get arrested too, but honestly, chances r slim with the police cos there’s no evidence really…nobody was around…but i heard that his friends n family r so angry that they wud even take matters into their own hands…i think that is a bad idea, wot’s the point u know…they’ll get in trouble too…but i’m not in a postion to judge them, they have lost someone very dear, who they cannot get back…the guy’s Chachu owns a record label here in Houston (and knows artist, Master P) and that was wot our friend was a part of too…now there r all these Black artists/friends of his who r pissed off and who wud do anything for him…so supposedly they r gonna go find these guys on their own and wot they do to them…well, i don’t wana say…but i hope they will turn them over to the police instead of doing something rash…in the end, i know Allah will punish them and perhaps that’s the real justice in all this…but for his family’s sake, i think they deserve to know who these SICK individuals were, for closure

well we had a similar situation I recall once with Sikhs and a Pakistani bro tragically died. The police never did anything but the guys family got even with their own actions. Though thats never the good way to do things I suppose.
Its unfortunate I guess that people at a certain age dont understand how futile things like this are. I mean its such a terrible waste of life, so utterly sad you know.

Very tragic…i don’t know how old those guys were, but yes, their acts of violence show immaturity and basic lack of respect for human life…violence just seems to lead to more violence, but hopefully in this case it won’t…Inshallah, they will be found and punished…thanks very much.
