A friend in need

I’m still off sick ok, I have the right to open lots of threads.

So Stoppits’s comment in my other thread (way to plug my own thread!) about still being able to buy something she suggested for me to buy made me think a nittle.

If your friend/cousins/sisters/chachi’s next door neighbour is looking for something that you are also looking for or would like to buy for yourself, and needs help finding it or advice on where to buy it from, do youse help them?

I have a particular pair of cousins who created a whole drama out of a dress. They both knew they were looking for a particular dress, one of them found it but she didn’t tell the other, the other found out from someone else. DRAMA. They didnt talk for months.

My brother and I used to put on reenactment shows about it, we called them ‘Dressgate’.

Don’t you just love what people will create drama over?

Re: A friend in need

Yes I help them! I love my cousin right now, because I was looking all over town for specific hot pink tulips and I couldn't find them. She saw them when she was shopping and let me know so I could go buy them!!!! How sweet is she?

LOL putting on reenactment shows is something my siblings would do tsk tsk

Re: A friend in need

Your cousin is indeed sweet!

We put the shows on for the elders in the family so it's like a Star Plus drama, helps them understand it better. We can do them in Punjabi and English. I sometimes think im wasted as a teacher :/

Re: A friend in need

lmao!! For us its usually in Punjabi and you would be surprised some of them have the accent/way of talking down to the T. It’s soo much fun but bad at the same time :halo:

Re: A friend in need

Do youse add in extra scenes for dramatics? We always add in a slap scene. Usually my brother slapping me :(

Oh and the end is always 'im leaving this pind!' but in Punjabi.

Re: A friend in need

^buahahha no, no slap scenes lol knowing my siblings if anyone smacked someone else (even pretending) we would have a brawl at our hands :D

Re: A friend in need

:rotfl: milly that’s just funny!!!

ummm if I was close to the person, yes I would.

Re: A friend in need

Milly you have to film it one day and show us :D

Re: A friend in need

Dressgate is old news now, it was a few years ago. We have no family wedding coming up either...it's going to be a bland year this year. :(

Re: A friend in need

Well give me some tips, I need something funny to act out for my sister's mehndi. We're doing a projector of her ugly photo images and I'm thinking a play of her and her istupid friends too :D

Re: A friend in need

It has to be a real situation + added extras (think of them as 'deleted scenes').

There has to be at least 1 slap.

At one point one person has to sob before they get all RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

A third person has to try and calm the situation but get ganged up on and say 'bas, im leaving the pind' to remove themselves from the situation.

An elder person has to come and try diffuse the situation (this is a good cue for the sobbing to begin).

It's always good if a door is slammed before the whole 'Im leaving this pind' line is said.

Costumes are optional.

p.s you cant make anyone cry for reals cos that's just mean.

Re: A friend in need

LOL I like it.
I'll have to be careful that she doesn't get offended, or I'll get jhutti from my mum. I'll probly take the inspiration from the older siblings when they used to make trouble as kids!

Last year for my bro's wedding we did a Blind Date style game quiz and took the mick out of his wife. I don't think he was too amused but it was well worth it!

Re: A friend in need

So you put on big productions? We just act it out in front of my daddi whilst she's watching Noor TV. Perhaps I shouldn't leave my day job :/

Re: A friend in need

Hmm wouldn't call it big production, but it was a bit of a show, yes. We did something similar for a friend's mehndi too, but her brother's organised it.
If we just did that in front of the family, we'd all get chittar :(
