A few Questions

  • My Mami (Moumani whatever you call your mamo’s wife) once told me that when a person dies and we (most muslims) tend to keep Quran Khani for them but its not actually right - because when you are praying for the deceased person and you have other people who have their own desires and wishes they want to be fulfilled so its actually better if you read the Quran for your expired relative your self or at most just call your family members to participate.
*]I also heard that if someone recites a surah a lot they might just get to see a maukil/jinn ect so we should give sada every time we read some surah a lot so does that apply to wazifas as well? i.e. one word or two.
I had a few more questions which i dont seem to remember for now so i will post those later…

Re: A few Questions

About your first question yes your mumani is right. In Pakistan people do that a lot but I don't find it any where in Quran or Hadith that doing quran khuwani if someone dies.

Re: A few Questions

Everyone is responsible for their own actions...

Re: A few Questions

As for your first question, Here is what I found: According to a hadith when a human being dies, all his actions come to an end, except in one of three ways: A continuing act of charity, a useful contribution to knowledge or a God-fearing, dutiful child who prays for him."

Isaal-e-Sawaab (to perform a virtuous act and grant the reward to any person, alive or deceased) is permissible. On numerous occasions, Nabi, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam, advised the Sahabah, Radi-Allahu anhum, to give charity on behalf of the deceased. One specific incident is of Sayyidna Abu Talha, Radi-Allahu Anhu, when the Ayah, ‘You cannot attain virtue until your spend what is beloved to you…’ (Nisaa 4). Abu Talha gave his most valuable well and garden, Bi’r Haa as charity on behalf of his deceased mother. In fact, Rasulullah, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam, slaughtered 100 sheep during his farewell Hajj and made intention for himself and all those (alive, deceased and to come) who bring faith on his prophethood. (Nasbur Raaya, Allama Zailee) Almighty Allah Taãla states in the Noble Qurãn, 'O` you who believe! Obey Allah and His Rasul.'

The life of the Prophet, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam, is indeed the best example for us to follow. During the time of the Prophet, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam, many of his family members, his wives, daughters, uncles and his illustrious companions left the world whilst engaged in the most noble work and effort of uplifting the religion of Islam. Despite the Prophet's deep love for them, he did not (on any single occasion) commemorate the innovative custom of inviting people on different intervals to recite the Qur’aan for Isaal-e-Sawaab.

While we do believe in Isaal-e-Sawaab, however, the act of inviting people for Qur’an Khatam and Dhikr, etc. has taken much prominence and people regard it as compulsory. In principle, if any permissible act is regarded as compulsory in Shar'iah it becomes Bid’at as that is distortion of Deen.

Concerned and beloved ones should recite Qur’an or perform any act of virtue, i.e. give charity, etc. with sincerity and gift it to the deceased. That is closer to the Sunnah and more beneficial to the deceased than performing an act of Bid’at which is of no benefit to the deceased, thus, defeating the actual purpose.

And Allah Taãla Knows Best.

Re: A few Questions

Ok...Thank you.

Re: A few Questions

a1kashur: Thanks a lot  so does that mean that if someone skips a Quran Khani it doesnt matter much..right?
does anyone have the answer to my second question though?

Re: A few Questions

the answer to the second question of yours is tru e.g by reading Surah Jinn .....continuously can lead to either seeing or controling a jinn like the way the Prophet did peace and blessings be upon him......it was done with some companions present......

even reading daruud shareef i think more than 1000 times every night can lead u to seeing the prophet peace and blessings be upon him either in a dream or physicaly...

but remember these things can only happen if u have 100% faith and are sincere towards your obligations in Islam and being obedient towards your lord Allah

i hope this helps..

Re: A few Questions

A dead person's life cannot be altered by any prayer... one gets what one earns. It is that simple.

Re: A few Questions

Exactly. There’s no obligation. But if you want to recite quran or make dua for your loved ones, it’s fine. That’s what Sadaka Jariya is.

Re: A few Questions

There is a friend of my mother - who said that she saw the Prophet Mohammad (SAW) in her dream and after that she got sick for the whole week and there was one more time she said that she went for Omra and she saw a weird makhlook guarding the Prophets grave they were short (and she gave some more discription) she said that they were waving at her but noone else could see them except her and there was this other religious woman who said that even she have seen those people (but my mothers friend although she is very religious but she still wears jeans and all) - there was another person who works with my phupa who said that he used to recite the durud sharif a lot and when he went for hajj or omra there was this rich arab guy who didnt even know him but rushed towards him and told him that the Prophet Mohammad came in his dream and told him to take care of the guy who read durud sharif and make sure that he has no problems as long as he is staying in S.A. for pilgrimage since he showers a lot of blessings on the Prophet (SAW)..and that arab guy since that dream went to the airport and waited for him. Once my aunt also had a very weird dream which she was told not to tell anyone but that dream made her cry and the person she told the dream to (a very religious lady) said that it happened to her because she is her mothers favorite.

There was also one incident my mother told me that my phupas brother who is a doctor was sleeping and at 2-3am in the morning he suddenly woke up and went somewhere - when in the morning he woke up he had a huge bundle of money under is pillow and when people in the house asked him where that came from he told them that a Jinn's wife was delivering a baby and her husband came to take him to help them out and he went so maybe thats why he got a gift... i really believe in all these stories thats why i was just curious.

I have heard a few more kissas like these...and that to from people who someone i am related to know..

Re: A few Questions

sorry when i said u have to have good faith i meant it for the first one about the jinn not the second part about seeing the prophet peace and blessings

mashallah she is a very lucky person to see all these miracles not even the wisest of people have seen such great miracles .........for her to see these miracles is a sign for her to move on with life and indulge into the beauty of what Allah has created and the signs that she has seen is also for to think about how much she really loves her religion......but again mashallah its so beautiful to seeee how deep our religion is when it comes to these miracles on how much hidden love there is for Allah and his Prohet even those people who dont show how islamic they are they still see these beautiful signs og Allah.....

i know a D.j who saw the prophet peace and blessings and he became muslim but he was amazed on how he saw the prophet and how all off a sudden he became muslim the works of the creator.........

but we all wait for signs from Allah to believe but really we need to ponder on his beauty that has been placed on this planet and the universe

we see Allah written in the skies and we get excited but we should realize the beauty of the clouds itself

we see Allahs name written in a tomato but really we should see the beauty of the tomato itself

we see the qalma written on trees or shaped in the trees but really we should look at the tree itself.......

there are numerous examples .....

anyway ive blabbed on for ages may Allah give your mum's freind all the success she needs and may Allah bless u and your family.....

Re: A few Questions

Oh i have one more Question - someone told me that if a girl or a boy who desires to get married write Surah - Al Ahzab (after wudhu and all) he/she gets a lot of rishtas by the grace of Allah; The point here is not about getting rishtas but i want to know that if writing a surah(s) just as effective and important as reading/ reciting it? It can't be wrong but does it count?
