A few questions for londoners

I’m posting here with the hope that some of you here might help me like many times before

As some of you might know, we are moving to London before the end of this month InshaAllah. Before the move, I need to know a few things.

Which Internet Service Providers are ranked among the best?

How much does it cost for a decent phone/internet service…like here we have DSL Flat with high speed for 53 Euros/month. And that includes free calling all over germany, 24/7 (landlines). So how much should I expect to pay for a similar service there in London?

Are we required to get a health insurance?

Ad lastly…where can i get he basic routine health checks/vaccination info from? I’ve heard that they don’t do Hepatitis B vaccine there as a routine??? I have a 2 weeks old baby…am i supposed to get done a 6 week check up there…or they follow a different system???

some of my questions might sound silly to you…but i really need to know all this as i have no other source to find out. Plus I’m not sure if I’ll be able to come online from there as soon as i reach there.

I’d really appreciate any help.
Danke!

Re: A few questions for londoners

You don’t have to have health insurance, assuming you are moving to the UK permanently.

http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/articles/article.aspx?articleId=1087

Anyone taking up or resuming permanent residence in the UK is entitled to free National Health Service (NHS) hospital treatment in England. If you intend to live permanently in the UK you will be exempt from hospital charges from the date of your arrival in the country, but you should expect to be asked to prove your intention and that you’re legally entitled to live here. This exemption applies to your spouse and children (under the age of 16, or 19 if in further education) if they are living here with you on a permanent basis.
