Because: the gross domestic product (GDP) of the country at the index grows at the expected rate of seven per cent this year. Karachi’s stock exchange index KSE-100 is aiming at an all-time high. German-Pakistani foreign trade might hit the two-billion euro record this year. Having come to power in 1999, Musharraf managed to revive the country’s economy like never before. The GDP per capita of the fiscal year 2007 that ended in June was at $935, thus beating that of the big rival India.
